@JanvN Seems like people's experiences are about 50/50... even though I'm pretty skeptical I'm giving it a shot this month. Hopefully I don't experience a big dropoff in performance after the 30-day window.
I'll post some feedback here for anyone that's interested once I receive my router and do some testing.
Okay so I received my router yesterday, just forgot to post since I was busy setting it up and doing some tests. Firstly I have to say I'm impressed with how quickly it was delivered, rica was a breeze and the sim was activated before I even got home from work.
So I have mounted the router outside about 2m up, but even so I'm only getting 'average' signal according to the rain optimiser. So far I'm averaging about 100 - 120 mbps on speedtest.net, although peak was about 220mbps around 8pm. So far there haven't been any connectivity issues that I've noticed.
I'm still planning on moving the router onto my roof sometime this week. I'll report back on whether there's any significant improvement or not.
@Stravanosa how did you find out what tower you're connecting to?
I am the same and still now struggling to het 5g signaalRain replaced my router an gave me the outdoor version. Tested it, still no 5G.
Next it's to put it on a pole and see If i can catch anything.
Still can't understand how I went from 5 bar 5G signal from the indoor router to absolutely nothing overnight

Hi guys
I'm jumping on the 5g train.
Few questions
1. Seems outside mount pointing towards the closest tower is the best installation method.
2. How is the wifi connection? Would phones, media boxes etc be able to connect without issues (in terms of connection strength) or would I need to run an ether net cable from the 5g router and distribute wifi in my home?
Advice would be appreciated
Thanks in advance
Thank you for the adviceI mounted mine on the roof. ensure you are pointing to the correct tower (optimization showed a dead tower to point to until rain advised to point elsewhere). Trees seem to interfere with the connection, try an get a clear view of the tower
my router is about 10m off the ground (on the roof) an thus my wifi signal was poor. you are going to need a wifi extender. all depends where you place the router and the distance to it.
What wifi extender would you recommend?I mounted mine on the roof. ensure you are pointing to the correct tower (optimization showed a dead tower to point to until rain advised to point elsewhere). Trees seem to interfere with the connection, try an get a clear view of the tower

Hey guys, for the 5G people.
I got on the bandwagon around Jan and oh buy the speed was great. 600mbit down and 45 Up.
Fast forward to today. 10000000x people joined in my area. Max speed 200mbit down and 40 mbit up. As of last week I keep getting disconnected from the internet. It seems DNS drops. I can ping 1.1.1.1 and it keeps going, but a ping to google fails.
This service is turning into the same rubbish as Telkom LTE.
Anyone else experiencing this BS? Its annoying AF.
The speed isn't that much of a concern. The disconnecting is beginning to annoy the living crap out of me. Especially in meetings and when I work remotely.
