BUT its needs a ram upgrade then as well
Yeah kinda saw that the further i read. Ram will be the 'cheapest' upgrade if he can get 16 (2x8)gigs on the cheap. One thing i dont understand is op buys 1080ti but has 8 gigs ram.

Like the one person mentioned above missed leg day xD

Fortunately i can oc my non k chip.

This type of upgrade makes sense if you didn't realise you can bottleneck a pc

Both CPU and 8gb ram is holding your gpu back. 1600mhz is low for that card. i remember upgrading from
Cool, Thanks guys

Should I invest in a 4790k or wait a bit and get a 8600k which was initially the plan in 12 months lol ... do you think the 4790k is good enough ?

get 4790k and higher mhz ram such as a 2400mhz will make massive difference

Nah 8 gigs of ram has been sub standard for a while. If i open enough tabs in chrome or vivaldi i pass 8 gigs espz thats not gaming eother xD

Start trawling the classifieds section and sell ur pc to make up the difference is the way to go.

Shot Guys

I will, I just dont know whether to buy the 4790k now or wait a bit and get a 8600k.... is there a big difference gap ?

Wait. I agree the 4790K is still plenty good but it's not exempt of the problem. Nor do we even know it's supported on that ITX board. Nor could you OC it on a ITX board with limited space and cooling, everyone saying it's fine is running it OC'd.

Likewise switching to 16GB with 2 8GB sticks solves the problem now but just stalls the larger problem. It's old. And yet there goes 3K or whatever that RAM costs now.

Wait.

Yeah if I had to do the 4790K options, I will need to change the CPu, Ram and Mobo - R4k+- and if I had to wait it will cost me R8k+-... I guess i will just suffer at this 68FPS till then...lol

I heard theres a program that can run the CPU at Turbo constantly @ 3.9Ghz ... I wonder if that's any bad ?? or if it will help .... (CpuCoreParking)

Also heard that by disabling the first core on the CPU in System will force the load on the other 3 cores -

RAM is a bigger problem than your CPU. The only way you're getting better frames is by solving that problem.

can you elaborate on how the ram is a bigger prob than his cpu?

That fact his RAM is full in that screenshot of the game whereas his CPU still has just a little bit of room.

Anything above 6GB on a system running only 8GB = FULL

I was running 8gb of ram with a Gtx 1060 6gb well into 100fps on PUBG. I do have a 4670k though.
So I still think cpu is the biggest limiting factor here

But did your RAM max out? His is.
Could be you were running a leaner idle RAM load than he is.

Believe so. Iirc it was always around 6gb. Only recently added +8gb and changed to a 980Ti. Getting 120+ FPS

Oh well. Easy to find out which of us is right.

What happens if he runs at 720P?

At 720P the load on the GPU AND system RAM should be reduced but remains the same on the CPU. If no improvment in frames it's definitely the CPU. If some change it's the RAM and the CPU still has a little more to give.

Lets agree to disagree... it is the CPU and Ram... Currently I have 2 x 4GB 1600mhz sticks, and the mother board only supports 1600mhz max... So I will need to get 2 x 8gb 1600mhz sticks, which honestly is a waste of time, dont you think ?

A waste of money. Not a waste of time.

But run the game in 1280x720 and let's see.

Did you do a clean install of windows, or running the same widows and just poped the card in? My buddy had exactly the same problem as this when he went up from a gtx 680 to a gtx 970, clean install and boom shit was fixed, 3770 is still decent'ish but you need 16gigs fo sho!!!
