Cool, Thanks guys

Should I invest in a 4790k or wait a bit and get a 8600k which was initially the plan in 12 months lol ... do you think the 4790k is good enough ?

Bottleneck sadly...

This is neat can you perhaps drop the link??

Sorry see you included it in the thread, my bad!!!

there are exceptions to the rule of thumb. The I7 4790k is one of them its a beast that gives some 7th gens a run for their money...
If I was to get a 1080ti on my 6700k I would have a bottleneck according to that bottleneck calculator :p So I think that 4790k would suffer the same issue.

Check temps
Check GPU Utilization
Check Power threshholds
Check Ram Usage
Get an SSD
Change that motherboard

What RAM, CPU/Thread, Disk, GPU usage are you getting when running the benchmark.
Check with HWInfo or something.

Stating you getting 60FPS in a benchmark means fuckall without stats. For all we know you have shitty USB device attached with DPC latency.

There is some serious thumb sucking going on here??? Might just be ram and windows settings but it's not your CPU, I have a i5 6500 and its supposed to have the same performance of your CPU. I easily get 100fps + in almost every single game I play at absolute max settings at FHD. Only games that dip are ARMA 3 and some Early access games.

Is there something I am missing?

ur cpu is also less of a bottleneck than his 3770

I run 6700k 16 gig ddr4 2400 + asus 1080ti is my pc also so called bottlenecking ?

If you can see the attached hw monitor screenshot

Happy with my setup as well. I only have a 3.5% bottleneck. Once again the 4th gen PC kicking serious ass and at great prices!

I apparently have and 11-12% bottleneck since my clocks are locked and my board maxes out on 1600Mhz RAM.

Its seriously time for an upgrade unfortunately. See if you can get an I7 4790k best value for money and will give you the boost you need at a great price. Also you only running 1080p so you will be fine.

Honestly would waste money on your current system try sell it and buy Up from there. You made the mistake of doing such a big GPU upgrade that you forgot the rest of your system i think...
Just get a 2600 and itx board from amazon should be like R5k at most

I'm only doing 1080p which OP wants to do as well. So that kinda bottleneck is ok.

I'm doing 1440P and still not complaining.

I just meant we might both be 4th gen buddies, but unfortunately our systems are not alike.

Faster ram ddr4 vs ddr3 and maybe you have 16 gigs vs ops 8 gig?
