Hi Everyone!
So i need some help because i think im going to loose my mind my here, and im sure @JollyJamma is too with all the help he has given me.
Summary of problem:
While playing a game, my screen goes completely black and i can no longer see anything, although i can still hear the game and my discord works.
The only way i can fix this is to hard reboot my pc.
The games i have most consistently been able to replicate these problems in are:
Apex Legends - Opening an Apex pack will almost always cause the crash described above.
Dead by Daylight - Upon joining a game, screen immediately goes black.
Its to be noted as well that both of those games are on two different Hard drives
This does happen in other games but besides those above i cannot consistently replicate the problem, not even close to replicate it. When this occurs its completely at random, can happen while i'm in chaotic scenes and really stressing the GPU and other times, while i'm sitting in a random pause menu and walk away from my PC.
What i have tried:
- Roll back drivers
- Latest Drivers
- DDU and install both old and new drivers
- HD Sentinel reports all my harddrives are fine
- Furmark for GPU stress test, no problems and completes the test
- Furmark for CPU stress test 45min - max temp is 69 degrees
- Disconnected my harddrives (besides the C:/ drive) and then connected them one by one to replicate the error
Upon the last one, the issue has not occurred again but i am not convinced this has solved my problems and it will creep its shitty head back in.
The closest thing i have been able to find in the event viewer is the following error:
Error 4101, Display Driver amdkmdap stopped responding and successfully recovered. (usually occurs around the time my problem arises) No other specific events are found at the time besides the windows error alerting about the unscheduled reboot
Specs:
Ryzen 5 2600X - 4.0Ghz
Gskill RipJaws 3200Mhz
B450 Aorus Elite
MSI RX580 Armor 2
750watt 80+ Bronze rated PSU (cant recall the exact name)
2x SSDs (256Gb OS - Transcend Drive, and 500Gb Steam Drive Patriot Burst)
2Tb Storage Mechanical Drive (pretty old)
3Tb Storage Mechanical drive ( 3 years old roughly)
All drives reporting 100% health on HD Sentinel
I am loosing my mind and I am at my wits edge and am about ready to throw this thing out the window!
Please help!
Thanks!
