OCL5K (Overclocking League 5000) Discussion Thread

SuperPi is a fun bench when tweaking for more performance. Simply changing my CR from 2T to 1T, upping my buss speed and using a 48x instead of a straight 50x makes almost 2 sec diffs :) WOOORA!

This competition is very informative. Learn something new every day :)

any tips to get decent super pi score?

done windows task manager tweaks, end explorer also, my score still suxs :p

I've notice 48multi and 104.2 blck works better than 49M and 102 blck 50 multi's the worst off,so if you ran run a higher blck and lower multi will push your score down, and faster ram speeds with 1t is better than low latencies and slower speeds :p,that's my observation...now help me get my dam 3d marks working!!! It's frustrating :(

Ok seriously please DO NOT edit old posts!!! You'll just make my life a living hell, and we won't be able to track how people are progressing. Remember, this competition is to help everyone progress ;)

Dude, if you click on the text that says "last edited by..." under your post you should be able to restore the old post. If you can't let me know and I'll do so for you, then post your score in a new post.

*** edit - I seriously don't see your P5650 score anyway, I may have done the final edit after you edited. Regardless, please post it in a new post

New scores are up for me :D Managed to finally get my CPU up to 5ghz :D
@Ojo - I resized my screenshots to 1600x900, its a bit blurry but hopefully it passes. And it means no extra work for you, other than updating the leaderboard of course :p :)

Corsair Xms 3 cmx4gx3m2a1600 c7
Oh ojo, with default black 100 after 2133 is 2400mhz pc boot and run's super pi but bsods halfway through, probably needs more volts, but I'm not going to take that chance lol I'm already on 1.65v

New score is up, and I cant revert my old post to its original, but it doesn't matter.

lol my AM3 score is the same as VPII's score , i had 3665xx run did not save it :(

seems my maxxmem score suxs also, must be my useless ram :(

My RAM also sucks, cant load windows with anything over 1700mhz so far. Been up to 1.625V on the RAM so far with really loose timings, so I've got one more try left with 1.65V and then I give up :(
Must also figure out why my Aquamark is being dumb, 7970 should be scoring 300k+ easy, instead I'm stuck at 200k

my ram does not even do T1 , cant boot t1 , must run T2 :p

i will give you a hint its not your graphics card , or any hardware of yours :p

Buy my ram lol guaranteed 2133 mhz stable from 1600 :p

Not necessarily K.D, if his IMC hits a wall that's it - game over. No RAM will get you 2,133 MHz if you wall before that.

First runs were pretty shocking, granted I am pretty much dead end at 4.7ghz the board doesn't at all like BCLK adjustments, almost immediate bootloop. RAM tweaking has proven as annoying with random crashes. As for the GPU it is pretty much clocked to its max at 935/1065

I see you're at 1.4V for 4.6ghz... have you tried bumping up the voltage? Or are you limited by temps? Decent maxxmem score though, same timing + speed but you inched me out. I'll have to try again tonight!

I have cranked it up to 1.45v at 4.8, but it hits a bootloop situation, I have seen a few MSI boards benched and it seems they reach a dead end around 4.7ghz. If you touch the BCLK you get RAM instability or the CPU doesn't tick over. I don't want to go around playing with System Agent, PLL voltages without know what it effects.

As for MaxxMem it scores well but 1m33 is the best I can do right now in SuperPi, I will try a few things and see were it goes. The only thing I know I am at the max threshold is the GPU. This may be the last benchmark on a Intel chipset anyways, trying something new.

See lower multi higher blck is the sweet spot not just super pi but all benchmarks, well done VPII

I actually never understood the appeal of benchmarking until now... And now I'm hooked :p
Really hoping to improve my RAM clocks tonight... I mean surely I can get at least 1866mhz out of them?! Anyone know off hand which two CPU voltages are for the IMC?

You're looking at System Agent (VCCSA), but for 1,866 MHz you shouldn't really need to adjust it.

I'm glad you're having fun though :D

Ill be back later tonight gonna reinstall windows and hopefully my 3dmarks will work,I aint gonna leave VPII like that :p

K.D, I am not the one you should be worried about. Acher should remain tops with his 3d benchies. He should just get his AM3 sorted and he'll remain tops. Unless you have an AMD 7 series card, Acher will remain unbeaten.

Massive gains from most of you guys, nicely done!
