Hi everyone, I am having trouble with my build not posting, the parts are:
Ryzen 5 2600
16GB Corsair 3000mhz ram
MSI B450m mortar titanium mobo
550w Cooler master psu.

So I finally bought a cpu recently which is a ryzen 5 2600 from a fellow Carbie member, when I connected everything the system would not post, the EZ debug led was stuck on the cpu section. I then unplugged one of my ram sticks and installed the single stick in the wrong dimm slot intentionally to see whether I'd get an led light corresponding with the ram too, well it did not, it was still on the cpu section, when I removed the remaining stick and turned on the mobo again, this time the led is on the ram spot. I did some research on the matter and it seemed that the issue was more to do with the mobo, I tried the bios flash option but hasn't worked for me so far (apparently I need to use a small capacity flash that is compatible, kinda hard to find in 2021, did find a 2gig stick but is not compatible since when I try to flash with it all I get are 3 led flashes then nothing), not sure what else to do. The mobo was bought a while back but I never tested it, while the other parts have been tested previously and found to work. Don't know what else to do, do I try to keep looking for flash drives that are compatible? What other options are out there? Please help this lad in distress folks, thanks.

Lol oh sorry for not mentioning it, yes I did also connect a gpu, an AMD HD 5450. Basically everything minus a hard drive was connected as I wanted to see if it will turn on and show something, this issue is currently halting my purchase of a hard drive.

Rename file MSI.ROM (all caps)

Make sure it is the only file on drive.

You can shrink a bigger flash disk to 2 GB and format it as fat 32

You have to wait a min of 5 mins

remove cpu, ram, gpu etc and try flashing

Hi aiccc, yes I did do that, I downloaded and extracted the zip bios file, renamed it to MSI.ROM and sent it to an empty 2gig stick that I had formatted to FAT32, I'll try shrinking my larger capacity drives and repeat the process. I tried the latest bios (the beta one) however, perhaps I should try out the older ones since it is an older motherboard? I'll try the flashing process over the weekend again and update you on what happens.

Welp, a whole month has passed. Well I had the mobo checked out and it indeed was dead, so I have since bought a new motherboard and my system is running. Thanks for the responses and I'll be closing the thread.
