I got a Corsair 280x RGB case with 2 120LL fans and 2 Coolermaster fans.

The one 120LL fan randomly changes the color or LED goes off for a second then back to normal. I actually noticed something last night though, it only happens when i am gaming. At the moment all 4 fans are connected this. So my current theory is that the fan is not getting enough power and thats why its LED is going off / changing randomly.

Anybody familiar with this?

Does the fan in question stop spinning for a second do the lights on the fan just turn off and come back?
I've got a pack of cheapie Gamdias fans in my PC and every so often they'll all flash to a different colour for a split second but then go back to the RGB light rotation that they are set to. Figured it was just the end of the coding that controls the fan colours and was just restarting from the beginning.

the color either changes or led goes off. Fan stays on and spins like normal

Are you running any other software for RGB control, either on your mobo, GPU , RAM etc? Some of it conflicts & produces odd issues.

Gigabytes annoying RBG software and ICUE.

it could be the gigabyte crap but i sadly can't test anymore as i moved to a different case with different fans lol

Wait a sec. How are you controlling the LL fans' RGB? What are the fans' RGB connector connected to? Surely it's a Corsair Node of some sort? And is the Node connected to your mobo with USB as well as SATA power? Because if that is the case then A) the Gigabyte software can't control it at all, so that can't be the issue, and B) there shouldn't be a power issue since it has SATA power.

Is it just the one LL120 with this issue? If so, try swapping the two LL's connectors on the Node. If the other LL starts doing it, something is wonky with the node. If the same fan keeps doing it, that fan is probably faulty and needs RMA.

My memory is hazy but it from what i recall fan 4 pin was connected to the deepcool hub i was using and then the RGB was going to node that was powered via SATA. Node was connected to the USB port on the mobo.

It was only 1 fan that had the issue. sadly didn't get around to testing more as i got my new case and switched right away
