For sure. 1st half we had 2 massive chances from mane a bit unlucky.

That second half though was a real test for us. TAA was really poor , not only in defence but his corners and crosses were sub par.

Diaz looking really sharp! Hopefully he starts against Norwich on Saturday.
TAA was absolutely poor last night, especially his defending...Perisic got past him way too many times, and way too easily - at times he showed no interest in defending, and that could not have sat well with Klopp. VVD blasted him a few times as he is expecting everyone else to cover up for him. Robertson was poor as well last night, he improved slightly in the 2nd Half. With Neco out on loan, we dont have any other options at Right Back, right now to cover for TAA, unless Milner or Gomez ends up there, as the rest are from the u23s and u18s.

I am glad Bobby got a goal last night, he is the most unselfish player in the squad, and it shows by the fact he rather setup his team mates than score himself in situations when he should be taking it on. It was a class finish as well last night. Not sure why Jota came off so early, hopefully it isnt any injury or knock of some sort, as I dont think he was playing bad. Also, for our midfield sake, Elliot shouldnt have started last night, the kid is a talent and good, but he struggled last night...maybe should have brought him on when we had the 2nd goal. The Hendo and Diaz changes were massive last night it getting us back into the game. We seriously need to improve quickly and shore up defensively if we want to ensure that things are in our hands - no away goals means Inter have nothing to lose in the 2nd leg - they can hit us all out from the start. UCL is only gonna get harder as better teams stay on, and also the Carabao cup final at the end of the month against Chelsea - that is going to be massive for the teams momentum on all fronts after that, especially chasing down City in the League (which is a very tall task right now).

We have to be better in MF, spot on - Hendo and Diaz was the best possible subs, was an immediate impact.

Going to a tough run for us but if we can capitalize on that cup final it will really push us all the way!

A bit of bad news about Jota, seems like he has an ankle injury....

@Dark_knight Thats really not good news for us...hopefully its not a long term injury and he is back for the cup final.

Def agree the MF needs to improve, its the reason why we ended up with that draw with Spurs - MF let us down then.

Capitalizing on the cup is definitely going to be a massive boost for the players and the team - increases the motivation of the players. Konate has impressed me since he joined, he is going to be immense for us in the future - last night he was absolutely brilliant and solid, saved TAA's behind so many times last night. Funniest thing to see last night was Martinez scared to take on VVD 1-v-1 - he didnt even try.

Seems like his ankle is swollen only. Could be available for Saturday

Yeah we going to need a revamp soon. Minamino and keita is not performing as they should. Jones is up and coming but kinda slow in terms of pace.

Lol that was kak funny! He literally looked up saw vvd and just backed down

So it seems that Jota's injury maybe a bit more than initially thought....he was apparently wearing a protective boot, so would that in mind I would be thinking the target is to get him ready for the cup final at the end of the month and they wont risk him until then.

Keita for me has had bad luck with his injuries and also maybe his physicality, i mean when the guy was bossing the midfield, he scored some absolute stunners and his passing and movement are insane. If he can sort out those injuries, i think he can get a good run and get better. Minamino hasnt lived up to expectations, the fact he is willing to stay and fight for a place does show alot of character and i'd give him the chance - despite his poor performance, he has scored alot of goals this season.

I keep seeing that Martinez moment, the moment he saw VVD...he lost all confidence and sort of froze up and didnt know what to do, all VVD did was guide him away like a border collie guiding his sheep. Our biggest issue is the high line that we are playing and getting exposed on the wings, leaving just the 2 x CB's. If we want to play like that, then i think we need to play a 3-5-2 / 3-4-1-2 / 3-4-3 formation with Robbo and Trent as Wingbacks...and play 3 CB's...gives us the freedom of having one of the CB's playing slightly ahead of the other 2 when attacking...easily becomes an extra man in midfield and easily an extra CB when defending.

So. Norwich and Leeds, both home games before the cup-final. Winning both of them puts pressure on City and also gives us good momentum to the cup final.

@Saaj

Let's hope he recovers fast, in the meantime we still have origi to cover if needed.

In all honesty I really like keita. He has this swagger to him. Agreed if he can be consistent and work on his strength no doubt he will secure a starting position.

LOOOOL was really a sight to behold.

I feel the same about the formation change, 3 X CB will be an ultimate defence.

I would like to say it's a guaranteed 3 points each but you just never know. Norwich got smacked up by city last weekend. Hopefully we can do the same

@Saaj

You ready for the game
5pm Kick-off - as ready as i'll ever be...lol

No Jota today, from the looks of things - hopefully we get the midfield combination right - we tend to end up struggling against teams of this nature and just about scraping through at times, today needs to be convincing and on point so Leeds will know we mean business come wednesday.

a win today puts us 6 points within City until they play...and they play Spurs who have not been a good team for them and could work to our advantage.

So i see that Trent has been dropped completely today, not even on the bench...Gomez starting at RB. So apparently Firmino has a slight muscle injury, so he isnt out and Jota is also, i think a precaution - its a luxury to be able to not rush a player back from injury when you have a full squad available.

Frustrating first half..

norwich have a good shape but we’re missing key passes and not exploiting spaces when it is manufactured - out wide especially.

Perfect game asking for a Divock

Yep. Wasted good chances. Salah as always on fire.

I think ox is the weak link. At the beginning he was quite energetic but his quality is just not there.

Our full backs not really up to par, Gomez struggling a bit but I would have expected Kostas to be a bit faster down his side.

Yeah every game is a must win for us. We cannot afford to take the foot off the pedal. City plays Tottenham tonight, can either be a complete blow out or hopefully just hopefully a draw at best.

Hendo and Ox make me pull my hair out,
don’t fight for the ball like Thiago and Fab and lack an end-game.
Anything risky or creative they attempt looks hit-and-hope, not methodical.

Some of the fringe players that started today don’t look as match sharp as we expect or have the same link-up play but is understandable.

Hendo needs to be dropped for a few more games to breed the dull back passes out of him.

What a finish from Mane. About time...needed something special and now hopefully, these changes will spark the team to life. I think Tiago coming in is a good move, to increase that tempo in midfield. Ox has been well below par today,

and as I am typing this, what a brilliant ball from Allison to pick out Mo Salah and that finish with the weaker foot. What a turnaround!!!

What a ball from Hendo to pick out Diaz...out of nothing, and the finish equally as good. Glad he got his first goal.

Loving the way he plays, Diaz is direct, strong and not afraid to get stuck in to the challenges. Exactly what we need in the squad. Its amazing also how quickly he has slotted into the squad and adapted, all other signings had to be introduced into the squad slowly until they got that starting position.

Damn. We really needed that from mane. Omg what a finish.

Brilliant from Allison to see salahs run. 150 goals. King Mohammed Salah.

Glad Diaz got his goal. Loved the finish.

YNWA

Done and dusted, 3 points now puts us 6 behind City pending their game tonight.

Mane and Salah, brilliant as usual. Diaz was also excellent in my opinion - always on the move, not scared to get stuck into challenges - the kind of player that snaps at your heels.

Hendo was brilliant as well, in the 2nd half especially, I guess the changes around him sparked him to life. Ox was way below par today, feel his time is numbered in the squad now. Definitely need an improvement in that MF area.

Tsimikas was exceptional - he has a magic left foot, and I love the fact he puts in some early crosses as well, not just trying to get to the byline and then cross. Matip was unlucky with that own goal, though our CB's were both solid today. Allison with a great assist and very alert keeping, as usual.

I think the change of shape after making the subs helped with sparking the squad back into life, it was inevitable with the amount of pressure being exerted - not many teams can try to match LFC toe-to-toe in game intensity, Norwich tried it after taking the lead and it was their downfall.

wow...this City and Spurs game is freaking on fire at the moment!!! Spurs where 2 - 1 up, VAR awards a penalty in 90+ minutes...its 2-2, 92 minutes played with 7 in injury time.....95th minute, Kane puts Spurs back ahead....

Well well well....title race coming back on ... all in Liverpool's hands now to make it a 3 point difference. Currently 6 points with a game in hand....Leeds game is now everything to play for...as it now turns on the pressure on City.

@Saaj

Mo Salah 🤝 Sadio Mane

This match was the 30th time that the duo have scored in the same #PL match for Liverpool - the most of any pair of players for a side in the competition's history

What an epic record to have!

Bruuuuuuv, what a game from spurs. I just had a feeling! We just need to capitalise on Wednesday.

On to Leeds 💪

Yeah it was intensity....dont kno if you noticed, when TIago and Divock came on, they switched to a 4-4-2 formation, and I think that just opened up Norwich as well.

LFC"s remaining games against the Top 6:
- Arsenal (A)
- Man United (H)
- Man City (A)
- Spurs (H)

Vs Man City's Games against the Top 6:
- Man United (H)
- Liverpool (H)

Gonna be tricky, hence we are going to have to demand perfection on this Run, as i find it hard that City may drop points against any of the other teams.

Spurs played a good game last night....I didnt even know they made any signings - Kulusevksi is a good signing in my opinion - getting a goal and an assist last night....Kane getting a double, though i think after this season...Kane is definitely going to leave them.

Yeah after the subs our game plan changed completely and it worked quite well.

We don't really struggle against the top 6 lol its usually the bottom table that we always catch on kak against.

Yes definitely we will need the full squad to play their part. The rotation will also have to be on point. Knowing when to play which players. But let's see what happens, cant get ahead of ourselves... We were just given a massive opportunity in PL, hopefully we take it.

@Dark_knight

Smooth as you like... 3 - 0 and this is looking like its going to be a massacre if we keep up this pace.

Aaand Diaz is still hungry, can see them getting belted.

Those that TC Salah are balling : /

Its just amazing to see how Luiz Diaz fits into this squad like a glove...hasn't needed any additional time to "fit into the system". He has hit the ground running, and links up so well with Salah and Mane and the rest of the squad. His tenacity, skill and directness is going to cause more problems as it settles it properly. That bit of skill in the first-half to play Fabinho through was just sublime to watch.

I love the new system . Mane in the middle with Salah and Diaz on the wings.

I was waiting for the hatric lol. From mane or Salah 🤣

Brilliant game.. we dominated from the get, nice link up play with Matip for that awesome goal he deserved that one. His quick runs really make a huge difference in opening up the defence.

On to the final 🤞 let's hope Bobby and Jota is fit as well. But I hope we stick with this setup.

We playing well. Loved matips goal
