So it finally happened. I got pushed off of the road (or at least onto another car's lane) by someone who has done it to me multiple times before. It is a newer (less than 3 years old) Haval that over the past month has pushed me into a different lane after crossing a solid line.

Many people in GP will know where this is but it is between Linksfield road and Gillooly's interchange. I have dashcam footage of them pushing me out of my lane on at least 3 occasions. I have always taken avoiding action.

As the title says, is there any legal action that I can take without them crashing into me?

Its more a matter of whether the cops or traffic cops will take it up but no reason legally that a charge couldn't be filed. Reckless and negligent driving for instance or possibly even assault (assault is the unlawful and intentional application of force to the person of another or creating the impression that such force will be applied) but that one would probably short circuit the average cops brain.

You have dashcam footage which backs up your version and shows a course of conduct on their part.

I believe there is an offence of inconsiderate driving or similar which I guess is also a possible charge.

Good luck with getting the pigs to even dream about doing anything. Had a taxi poes overtake through an intersection whilst I was indicating to turn right & the cnut drove into me. He jumped out & tried to intimidate me by wielding a panga & went apeshit until I showed him that panga vs 9mm is no contest. He then drove off. Rapidly.
Clear video footage from the neighbourhood CCTV was given to both JMPD & SAPS when I opened the case at Sandton pig palace.
12 months later (literally - happened 1 June 2022), despite monthly phone calls to both Sandton pig palace & JouMaSePoesDoos offices and fokkol has happened. The most activity I saw from SAPS was the constable changing his mind using his index finger stuck up his nose to the second knuckle whilst I filled in the accident report.
Still see the cnut on the road every so often in the suburb. If anyone sees a Quantum with reg KK44JNGP please flip him the bird for me. I do it every time I see him, amongst other things.

Bottom line: never expect the pigs to do anything except excavate their noses. They are the epitome of useless. Unless of course you are a soft target & easy to solicit a bribe from in a roadblock where all they check for is if your car &/or drivers licence are up to date. Then they will be at their very best.

What a coincidence, last year i just left with my 8nfant from linksfi3ld hospital and a fuy pushed me off at the interchange as well.... white car though

just stick to the slow lane bud

Upload the instances and let us see... We can judge from there and advise. Especially here from CPT, are you sure it is a Haval and not a BMW or a Ford bakkie? 😜

I'm dubious.

No reason not to post the video.

POPI is small reason.

The POPI Act sets out the minimum standards regarding accessing and 'processing' of any personal information belonging to another. The Act defines 'processing' as collecting, receiving, recording, organizing, retrieving, or the use, distribution or sharing of any such information. Link

Showing the number plate could count as sharing information. But a number plate is a public piece of info.

Defining personal information

Personal information is any information that may identify a person such as a name, surname, identity number, contact number, email address, religion, medical history, education, financial or any other information that is unique to an individual.

I would let the lawyers figure this one out.

Don't hold your breath with the cops. Also all depends on how much discomfort and frustration you would like to put yourself through engaging with them pigs. You most likely will end up even more frustrated than you are already.
