Which of the 2 are better long term?
I'm thinking about purchasing either brand here in Israel in the next few months, will be used on and off road primarly on though.
Looking to get into 4x4 in the desert etc on weekend getaways.

I had a wrangler years ago but never drove the landcruiser/prado and am wondering which one would last the longest?

Go Toyota - you will NOT regret it.
Yeah, those things are built like a tank and fortune of them running around here. Probably go for the 2 door, 4 door would be too big just one or 2 people.

I worked at a mine in the middle of Africa, and the only cars you saw on site were Prados. There's a reason for that.

Also, if I may ask, what are you doing in Israel?

If you asked something like Isuzu vs Toyota or Mazda or Honda then it would actual warrant some consideration. But you cannot even loosely compare a Toyota to a Jeep.

Toyota is hands down the most reliable vehicle on the planet. The only reason that Toyota does not have an outright monopoly in South Africa is because of theft (and some people are wowed by up to date tech so they buy shit like Haval)

The Japanese still try their best to build them like they used to.

We don't get Haval over here that I have seen but plenty of the Cherries and a model called the FX, also get plenty of imported chinese brands not seen in SA and a shit load of Tesla's as well, just plain ugly to me. The electric car is big over here and charging stations all over the place, I'd rather have a big old V8 anyday.
