I assume you gave us all the specs because you are just excited?Hi everyone👋
I adore this niche hobby, truly I do but it can be pain in the arse at times! I’ve lost copious amounts of sleep trying to finalise the config of my next build. I can be an indecisive bellend at the most inopportune times. However after much insomnious deliberation favouring between which layout, keyboard, switches, stabilisers, keycaps & potential mods to use. I think I’ve come to a reasonable conclusion. Although certainly open to suggestions.

Thank God, thought it was a xylophoneYes that is definitely a keyboard
Look if your budget can handle it, you can do a lot worse for a board. You'll be fineThank God, thought it was a xylophone
Excited, yes. My OCD got the better of me😅I assume you gave us all the specs because you are just excited?
All we can say is cool I guess... We have to deduce your needs from the board and switches your picked. If you want suggestions you will have to give us more on what you want to achieve.
Budget for this build is around 5K ±Look if your budget can handle it, you can do a lot worse for a board. You'll be fine
Is it because the switches are lekker🤣Hello,
I’m a keyboard nut and my Wooting 60HE changed my life.
Hahahahah - yes Sir baie nice!Is it because the switches are lekker🤣
That’s lekker, last joke I promise😆Hahahahah - yes Sir baie nice!
I want one as well, just to have one.Hello,
I’m a keyboard nut and my Wooting 60HE changed my life.
You can try pull the keycap off, put a bit of alcohol (pure 70% or higher) on a cotton bud, then press the switch down with a toothpick or something and try clean inside the switch.I have a corsair RGB 70k I think..
I have a problem though, my "S" key is not working so nicely anymore..
The button seems fine but it's not registering the S key on every stroke..
I think I may have damaged it when I split coke on it in the past..
Is there a way I can fix this?
faaaark...You can try pull the keycap off, put a bit of alcohol (pure 70% or higher) on a cotton bud, then press the switch down with a toothpick or something and try clean inside the switch.
I think those KBs come with a keycap puller in the box (looks like a circle with two prongs).
If cleaning it doesn't work then it's a big story to try replace the switch, it's not impossible but those keyboards aren't really designed for it.
Directly from Wooting, took months and months they come out in batches and you go on the waiting list. And Angry Miao Glacier keycaps from Australia. That’s lekker, last joke I promise😆
Did you order directly from Wooting? Haven’t seen any local stock floating around.
I'm not aware of anyone who does it on a commercial basis. The guys here in this thread are probably your best bet for someone who could do it on a hobby basis, but like I said, it's a story, requiring soldering etc.faaaark...
Okay thanks dude.
Worst case, is there someone here that would replace the switch for me? and if so for how much?
I'll try your solution.
Thanks dude, you sir are a legend!I'm not aware of anyone who does it on a commercial basis. The guys here in this thread are probably your best bet for someone who could do it on a hobby basis, but like I said, it's a story, requiring soldering etc.
Plus you'd need another switch to replace it with. Someone here might have a loosie for you. The K70 uses Cherry switches so many types should (in theory) be compatible.
But try clean it first. I had a similar issue on an older Cooler Master board and cleaning it did the trick.
Thanks dude, you sir are a legend!
I'll give it a try this evening.
Any suggestions on what alcohol to use? I've only got Tequila at home.
alcohol (pure 70% or higher)
That's my sig chop.Is birds of a feather an alcohol?
That's my sig chop.
Any pharmacy will have the alcohol.
I got something called "Reviver" off Takealot which is 85%, works great. Thanks dude, you sir are a legend!
I'll give it a try this evening.

What's your budget?Soooooooo after a session on a buddies custom board....i think i may have been bitten by the KB nut bug....any recommendations ona good lowbudget starting point. Low budget because i wanna try out some mods on to see exactly what i want before gtting a more premium alu kb
Budget is plus minus around 2-2.5k and looking at a 75% board. Prefer liner switches...wireless would be a nice to have but not a deal breaker if it's not. What's your budget?
What size are you looking at?
Wired or wireless?
Tactile, linear or clicky?
Sigh. I see we have another special one in our midst. Thanks dude, you sir are a legend!

Alberton,Sigh. I see we have another special one in our midst.
Where do you live?
I have everything, but located in Pretoria East. Maybe that 120 is better spent to Pudo the board to someone that can sort it out.Alberton,
I'm going to try that revive, it costs R120, but only off takealot, so not sure I can get it today...
I really do struggle though because I lack the tools necessary to do a lot of stuff on my own.
