Keyboard Nut Thread

I feel like I've looked everywhere for some stabilizer lube at this point and am not finding much that I feel comfortable with (don't know much about greases and don't want to use something I think is fine and end up messing my keyboard).

Does anyone have links to where I can buy lube for stabilizers, I saw a link a few pages back about Team Silicone Shock Fluid, but it is out of stock and I think it was only for switches?

But just imagine how much more salivating those mechanical keyboard reddit pics will look on a monitor that can actually do colours and contrast.
You make a good point, however, I'm too busy looking at the pretty lights from my board.

Mmmmmmmm pretty lights

(I'm just joshing btw, I have a fairly decent IPS display that I use for work anyway)

took me forever to find, eventually i bought a tube of Molybdenum grease from a hobby shop in Northcliff, it worked well and like a year down the line it still seems fine. It has my recommendation

edit: it was Tamiya Molybdenum grease

Which Hobby shop in Northcliff if you don't mind sharing

I cant remember the name, all I know is that its in the Northcliff Corner shopping centre. The centre opposite the Engen petrol station

Which would be the recommended board between the DK61 Pro and the RK61?

The DK61 Pro has PBT caps, not sure if it's available in white though :(

@Jaredlll08 If you can point me to some small container for lube I can spare you some of my Permatex & Fluorotec. you'd just need to pay for shipping.
Oh wow, that is a very nice offer. I may take you up on that if I don't come right with the Tamiya Molybdenum that was mentioned by @nster101

Thanks going to give this a shot! What did you use it for? Stabilizers , switches or both?

A quick google leads me to Esswex.

I am finding loads of places that sell it online like Raru or Loot though.

I used it for stabilisers only, it’s too thick for switches.
I think it may have been Esswex

So you guys don't rate those premium GMK sets?
What do you mean we don't rate? We'd love to get into the whole groupbuy but it is so fucking expensive for us SA bois.

I'll be participating in the GMK Stealth, GMK Pixel and 100% getting myself a GMK Dots if they release a new batch next year.

Look the DK61 Pro at least comes with PBT out of the box, I own both keyboards, so first test them out before spending more money on additional keycaps.
I don't think I'll go custom too soon. I'm still deciding which switches I want - that's probably a bit more important.

Sorry, what I mean is, do you guys prefer something like Ducky PBT over the ABS GMK sets.

And I think I got my answer. :)

Taeha swears by the premium feel of ABS and I've been curious about them forever, but as you say the expense and then wait is insane. I got so close to dipping on GMK Hammerheads earlier this year.

If you are referring to this:

They look amazing! Pricey but super nice.

Never owned a set but have seen them on Drop as well.

Gateron Optical Blacks on the DK61 Pro and Cherry MX Silent Red on the Ducky.

So this weekend, I picked up a keyboard I've been trying to get hold of for the last few years!!

I had one before, well the bigger version (Vulkan 120), and I let it go quite quickly after I got it, due to the switches not being exactly what I wanted. This weekend, I got a Vulkan 80, which is the non RGB version of the Vulkan 100. You see, now I know about things like switch lubing and stabilizer lubing etc, so I can pretty much get the switches feeling way better and have the keyboard I actually want.

So I picked up the keyboard yesterday, took it home and cleaned it all up, and then set it up on my machine. I started typing and was less disappointed than the last time I used it, but it left a lot to be desired in terms of what I'm used to on my Anne Pro II which is already lubed.
So this morning I started with the stabilizers, and man oh man is the difference already night and day on the big keys!!!! They are non-standard stabilizers, so I had to do as best I can, so I took a brush and forced in a whole bunch of Fuchs Di-Electric Grease, which is my go to Stabilizer Lube, and I can see that the end result of this keyboard is going to be epic!!!!

I cannot wait to do the switches later today, I just know I'm gonna get what I'm looking for!!!! This may end up being my end game for at least another year, and the only other keyboards I'll buy will be for collectors purpose.

Super Super stocked to finally get the board I've wanted for so long and be able to make it just the way I want it!!!!!!

Finally got a bit of time to open my stuff. I've always wanted those foggy looking pom jelly caps. Even though I use my ergo for work, I find the rgb awesome for seeing what layer I'm on and busy using.
Corne v1 with Halo true switches.

How are you finding the Halo True switches?
