A few words regarding Input Club's Hako True switches.

It's been awhile since I did a proper switch review/overview and shared my thoughts on small plastic buttons. I've been so complacent with what is in my boards, I overlooked some of the switches at my disposal.

About a year ago I was looking for a unique tactile switch. Something possibly overlooked, or something just not that popular. I decided to take a gamble at the unique and wonderful Hako switches. Being the tough boy I pretend to be, I chose Hako True. I got distracted by life, and only put them in a board earlier this week.

Initially looking at the force curves and comments on these switches, on paper it looked like my ideal tactile. Short soft throw, then a roundish bump and a hard progressive bottom out feel. And these delivered just that. My only mistake was underestimating the hard bottom out. These punish your naughty little fingers so much, even your wrists feel it. If you don't lightly caress the tops and stop soon enough, you are greeted with a resistance as solid as concrete. With enough force they will surrender under your weight, but do you really want to do finger handstands? I do not recommend bottoming out on these.

The tactility is very subtle though, but still hard to ignore. Somewhere between a brown and a glorious panda. I enjoy the uniqueness of these switches, although I don't see them becoming my daily. They produce an extremely nice sound, and is an absolute joy to type on. They torture your fingers, while you beg for more. I will have to get used to not bottoming out, and these are the ideal training partner.

TL: DR; Not for the faint of heart, but so so rewarding.

Hey man - pretty much no idea, but I will be using expedited shipping. Details below

Regarding the gb

I want to buy waterkings and that might cause a delay. KPR don't say how long it might be.

Just a heads up as it seems no one can keep up with the demand of these

2021 KPrepublic 618 Shopping Week is coming.
We prepare lots of best price items and discounts for you.
Here are the general discount codes,
they are available
ONLY on kprepubic.com
from 15th June to 21st to June.

Buy $100 get $5 off - 618b100g5
Buy $150 get $10 off - 618b150g10
Buy $200 get $30 off - 618b200g30

The $30 off $200 seems decent, but I'm not sure how much our total will be at this point. The more over 200 we go, the less of a difference it makes. Please let me know if you'd prefer to wait until Tuesday for me to order in the hopes of saving 5-10%

I think it would probably be better to wait a couple days.
My order is between 75 and 95 dorra so if we can save 10% that would be amazing.

In hindsight of this maybe someone can make sure I've selected the right stuff? Think I might have gone overboard...

Was also considering the Everglide stabs and decided to rather stick with Durock. If anyone finds a review, please can you share here? :)

So I need clip-in stabs for the Keychron.
The Durock's are pretty good.

Durock, everglide, ZugGear and JWK stabs are all the same thing. They're made by JWK

Is the shipping cost of getting a varmilo this side rough or does anyone have prior experience? I saw ctrl shift esc having some varmilo's but no ECV2 switches nor 65%s which is a bummer.

Wondering if anyone in JHB might have a proper switch puller for me to use or a spare to sell me?
This casual peasant has some sweet switches but no decent puller to swap them out with

Hi Everyone I have a quick question.. so I am looking to get my first dz60 kit. Woop. My budget allows me to either get a tofu 60% case or a premium keycaps set... Which do I go for? I am coming from modding cheap kits with in lubed brown gateron switches so I'm not sure what premium feels or sounds like .

I would get the tofu and a cheap pbt keycap set. You can (will) always buy quality keycaps later.

I fitted unlubed milky yellows to my GMMK pro to test it out.... Immediate impression... What the hell is up with these stabs!? 🤣 Shift key, backspace and enter are sluggish. Also, the shift key sticks when bottoming out. Spacebar is fine.

I'll take a look at the stabs when I lube the switches... The scratch is real.

I haven't figured out how the layers work as yet. It feels like I'm switching profiles instead of layers. I just want a 2nd function/layer print screen button without QMK.

Overall, I'm really happy. Stabilizers are easy enough to fix. It makes for an excellent platform/kit to build upon at the price. I probably would have been upset if the keyboard was sold as a complete unit with switches and keycaps.

Oh and RGB accuracy is pretty good. It really, really grinds my gears when I set RGB to a certain colour in software and it's totally off in real life. The GMMK Pro can pull off an understated soft white quite well.

You really have to clean the stabs. Stock lube on these are absolute atrocious.
