Keep your components clean!

Techyescity uses this

Yea I don't care if Batman uses it, there is scientific backing as to why not to use chemicals containing chlorine and acetone on your PC parts.

I've brought to attention the potential to cause damage, I suggest you do more research and stop propagating ill informed advice to forum members that will most likely damage to their components.

Watch some of Louis Rossmann... he lashes both techyescity for the use of brake cleaner, and also Linus for his "reflowing equipment in an oven" bullsh*t....

Please link the video where he lashes the Yes man if you can

@Ebrahim Ali Shucks I spent about a half hour hunting for it but no luck, I don't think it was a video dedicated to the topic, if I recall correctly it was where he was fixing some other shop's mess-up (too many of those though) and passed the comment... I'm not mad or talking nonsense though, another user even commented on the techyescity video referencing Rossmann;

I had a good laugh at my father the other day when I was looking at alternate cleaning options, he says; why don't you just use carbon tetrachloride, back in my day that's what we used to use on our tracks... sure dad, bring on the liver and kidney damage with a side dose of cancer with your bowl of plastic goo and an open ozone!

Out of interest I quickly tested an aerosol "electric circuit cleaner" the other day for a chemical manufacturing company where their supplier on that particular product recently "improved the formula", and they had some concerns around that. I first noticed the condensation that formed, very distinct wet patches after evaporation of the product, which I'm not sure can be avoided being an aerosol, but something I would say you'd have to think vary carefully about when using, with the potential to introduce water into crevices!
Then there was the actual issue, a weird white residue on the capacitor and memory slot, which was confusing as I first thought it was ice, however it didn't melt and evaporate, and on the hard memory slot plastic it left the surface with a rough texture after wiping it off, so seems it ate into it.
I'm hoping they can get the mix right so I have an alternative to isopropyl which sometimes requires quite a bit of work.

Yeah I would always cringe a little when Brian would spray sockets and boards with brake cleaner and other stuff. I prefer Louis` method of an ultra sonic cleaner and alcohol but since I dont have an ultra sonic cleaner I just use alcohol and elbow grease!
