I posted a “wanted” thread about 2 weeks ago looking for an iPhone 11 Pro. On the post I said the battery health of the phone must not be below 79% and stated that my budget was between R6000-R6500. After a few days, a seller by the name of “Bostik” replied to my post and informed that he’s got the phone i’m looking for (iPhone 11 Pro) with a battery health of more than 80%..We then communicated further on WhatsApp and ended up agreeing on the price of R7000…”due to the condition of the phone and it’s battery health” he said.

I then received the phone from him and set it up….only to find out that the battery health is 75%💔..Upon discovering that, I immediately sent him a message asking him how and why he would do that. Then he said he was told that the phone’s battery health is 80%…but he didn’t check if it’s true or not since I was “rushing him” to send the phone to me. I don’t understand how that could be possible as I believe you should double check the condition of your product before selling it…and he’s the one who talked about the phone’s BH being over 80% on my “Wanted” thread🤷‍♂️.

“Send me back the phone and if it’s in the condition that I sent it in, then I’ll refund you “, he said. I then told him to refund me first as I paid him first..It’s only fair and as per Carbonite rules🤷‍♂️. He then told me that it’s never going to happen as he doesn’t trust me…and told me that I have low itrader so he doesn’t trust me. I took that as an insult that he would say that he doesn’t trust me because of my itrader yet it says 100% and everyone I’ve dealt with has given me a positive feedback.

Besides all that, I don’t even know him but yet I sent him R7000 without blinking and receiving anything from him..I didn’t say to him “send me the phone first and if it’s ok and with the stated battery health, then I’ll pay you”. I just paid him and trusted that I will receive the phone and it’ll be as stated. Now isn’t that trust??🤷‍♂️. Or maybe he’s the only who’s meant to be trusted?🤷‍♂️..

I got so angry to a point where I asked him whether he was doing that because I’m black as I thought he wouldn’t do that to someone who isn’t.. I know I shouldn’t have said that but I was carried away by my anger and found it very obnoxious that he doesn’t trust me yet I trusted him.. and don’t even know him. I felt like there was no reason for him not to trust me..even we don’t have the same “itrader points” but he was once at the level that I am on (here on Carb) and had to work himself up to get the itrader points he has now⬆️ and im sure he expected people to trust him even though he hadn’t dealt with a lot of people..like myself.. but now he wants to act like he started with thousands of points and a good itrader.

He swore at me a lot of times but I took because I had said something about him not trusting me because I’m black…which I know I shouldn’t have said🤦‍♂️…but remember this came after he blatantly told me that he doesn’t trust me…and I felt very insulted…I think he’s taking advantage of me because he’s been here longer than myself…yet I still have a good itrader…even though it’s not as compared to his.

I told him that the admin said “when you get paid first, you refund first “ and he said that’s not true and he knows the owner of this site and can only listen to the owner, not the admin..He even said the owner already knows about this and is waiting for my post in order to respond to me directly.

I also said to him “I’m sure the admin acts on behalf of the owner and would say the same thing that the owner would say” And he said it’s not going to happen. I told him I’d report this to the admin “You can go ahead “ he replied.

I’m refusing to refund him first because Not so long ago the admin stated that if you sell something to someone and it’s not as advertised…You refund the buyer first, the same way they paid you first.🤷‍♂️

Will the admin kindly let me know if I’m right or wrong.

Yes I did sell a phone with lower percentage then what I said which was my fault and apologized for that and said send the phone back and if in same condition as what I send I will refund no problem.
The only reason this happened cause you nagged me for days on end to send asking where is the phone how far and please hurry up send phone to you and yes I should have checked.
Then when I stated you have a very low itarder (6) which doesn't matter if its 100% its still low you would need to send it 1st,if you had a high itrade I would refund 1st but this was not the case.
You then started calling be a racist numerous times even after I told you to stop doing that and also called me a liar numerous times.
I then did tel you if you call me a racist one more time to fuckoff which again you said you white people think you can just do what you want and get away with it, again calling me a racist after that!!!!
I sold a phone earlier this year to high itrade person who was looking for dualsim and not single sim and when he received it the one sim didn't work with his network, he was immediately refunded before he send the phone back.
The only reason I said return it 1st was as your itrade of 6 was low. I did message the owner to discuss this and yes he said I must wait for the bad deals thread.
Your attitude in starting attacking me and insulting me calling me a racist and liar did not help to get this sorted and only made it worse.
Also my itrade took many many years to build and I also had to trust people with higher itrade.
This had nothing to do with color but that you only have 6 itrades but you had to make it something about color and insulting me numerous times!!!

You keep saying how can you trust me as you dont know me but you did pay the 1st without knowing me and how did you trust me then? The itrader worked then but oddly now you say it doesn't work and you cant trust me.

Look, at the end of the day, you have 6 itraders and you have been here for just over a year. The seller has over 400 itraders and has been here since 2010.

This can be a typical scam where a low itrader buyer buys something, then claims it’s faulty, asks for a refund, seller pays the refund and buyer disappears.

It’s happened a few times where people open up the item, damage it and then ask for a refund.

If you paid for something, trusted the buyer, and he sent you the item, then what’s the harm in sending it back in the same condition and getting the refund.

Stop being a doos and a playing the victim cos clearly you are not.

If you buy something from an online / physical store and you want a refund, do you think they will refund you without actually getting the item back and inspecting it? If you do, then dream on.

Why not have them replace the battery and do a 50/50 on the repair costs? Then its a good condition iPhone 11 Pro with a new battery and you dont need to send it back and forth?

He's proven himself to be reliable for many many years, and a lot of us have dealt with him before. It's not because you are black, it has nothing to do with that. Carbonite is not about race or religion or whatever, we deal with a profile on here whom we learn to trust. You are building up that trust, that's great, but, and this may sound rude, it's not all there yet. People have been building up profiles with a few positive ratings just to scam people down the line. It happens.

So, as I told you in the PM as well, send him back the phone. He won't scam you. He won't be weird about it. Send it back in the same way and @Bostik will refund you, I'm damn sure about that.

But also, in the same line, @Bostik you should check your shit, mate. I know it happens, hell, I've done it myself. Sell something I'm sure is in good nick, and then the guy gets it and it's total poop (not that the phone was poop, but you get the idea). It's not worth it, though.

I’m truly sorry for the way I reacted, like I said I SHOULDN’T have said what I said and will probably handle these kind of matters differently, next time. The physical condition of the phone is perfect and I even said it to @Bostik right after opening the phone…before I noticed its battery health.

But it’s all water under the bridge now. If he can replace the phone with one that has a higher BH, that’ll be lovely. If not, then we split money for a new battery. Again I’m deeply sorry for not controlling my anger🤦‍♂️.
