Howsit guys.

Sitting with a bit of a problem. How on earth do I neaten the cables running from my graphic cards and motherboard?

I want my cables to do this :

But I am getting this :

why dont u use that shrinkwrap(shrink tubing or something like that) stuff?

Those pictures are a bit misleading, as getting the strands to lie perfectly like that on a curve, the outer strands would have to be longer than the inner ones...

Maybe you could use clear adhesive (if you work carefully it would be invisible?)

Mhm. Ya I suppose. Thing is I bought these cables pre-made from PPC. I can't cut or shorten cables.

He doesn't want something visible???

Yes.

HEATSHRINK thats it..might be able to find a clear one

it would just look like a zebra crossing :p..

Thanks. I can't remake cables though. I need a solution without cutting the cables =/

from the looks of it, it looks like your cables are being "forced" through that plexi piece, which also doesn't look like it is sitting flush.

I would say, although it may be a bit more work and effort:
- make a new piece of plexi
- find a cheap/easy way to remove the pins from the PCI-e connectors
- drill individual holes for each cable (take into account the size of the pin connector)
- weave the cables through each individual hole

Well, along the same lines as OTC mentioned, but perhaps instead of doing a new piece of plexi, you may need to expand the hole you already have, but then get a piece of rubber (you can get like 4mm sheets from most hardware's, normally used for the back of a bakkie etc) punch holes in the rubber for the cables (use a punch used for punching holes in leather etc), you can even cut a slit from the end to the hole so you don't have to take the cables out if you don't have a tool to remove the pins. Then mount or glue the rubber to the hole..

Something to this effect..

You can also trying clamping them down nearby, then you fiddle with the lengths to get it all uniform with the clamp semi tight. Once everything is just right, tighten that sucker down and you should be good. Bunches of 8-12 wires per clamp seem to work well

Howdy, dunno if anyone has given you a perma fix yet, but i offer a sollution to my clients who i do sleeving for.

Take a old cd cover, preferably a clear one, drill your holes into it side by side using a dremmel into the pattern you want and cut it out.
With the plastic being so thin you cannot drill the hole to the final size but rather use a shaping bit and machine it to your size sleeving (+-3mm). Take your sleeved cables and feed it through.
Must be clear cause then it looks great once you put the case lights on and you must also be careful cause the plastic once machined is very fragile but it looks great once completed

Here is what it looks like

a wife who can stand the noise.
