Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has tried/succeeded with doing an online booking payment on the Home Affairs eChannel website?

As far as I'm concerned all of my account information is entered correctly but for some reason I'm not getting any authorization requests from Absa when I initiate payment on the eChannel site.

I'd appreciate any tips or help. Thanks!

Are you expecting the request as a Push notification, email or sms?
If it's a Push notification, you can try and clear the Absa App cache on your phone (not the data).

I don't have an Absa account to relate with.

Try on another device, like a PC, if you are using a phone.
Try in an Incognito Tab if that fails.

If it still fails, it could be an issue with either Absa or HA,
I've seen that Absa has had intermittent problems in the past, as do many banks.

This is also happening to both myself and my mom, we are going to do it at home affairs in the week.

Not ABSA - Did it on FNB yesterday, had to go to Payments screen on FNB online banking and it had an outstanding authorization to approve

Hi. The payment request goes through to the bank. It will NOT appear on your app (at least with FNB) You HAVE to logon on a PC, then go to efiling and home affairs section. (Your bank should have a separate payment tab for those)
PS For FNB anyway, there's no push notification that there's a payment awaiting approval. You must "just know" lol

Yup exactly this, did mine last week and had to go online (Nedbank) and authorize the payment.

Just an fyi, If you are doing the payment for a passport, when you get the confirmation email for your appointment is says

"When visiting the branch for your biometric capture please take a printed copy of the barcoded eHomeAffairs "Application Confirmation" with you. You can access the barcoded eHomeAffairs "Application Confirmation" on the Home Affairs eHomeAffairs website."

Don't bother looking for this on the website, it doesnt exist anymore lol. Just take your ID and passport along with you.

Thanks for that. I'm doing a passport application as well

Does anyone know if the FNB at the Glen needs bookings? When you try to book, it says "services this branch offers: processing without booking"
I don't want to go there only to be told I need a booking.

Can I do my biometrics etc at Standard Bank even if I don't have an account with them? I can pay online via my Nedbank account, but the closest bank that does passport applications is Standard Bank

Just recently had similar problem with Nedbank. Clearing cache does not help as the cache is automatically cleared by the app on startup.

Maybe someone here can help me with some advice.

My mom is on pension and her SASSA card is expiring soon. Wouldn't be a problem if she didn't lose her ID book.

She is unfortunately in a wheel chair and is pretty sick. I have been to home affairs and they say she needs to go there to re-apply but they can't seem to understand that she can't sit there for ages without being in pain etc. And when I spoke to FNB they said she needs to go to a branch to do biometrics etc. Does anyone know of any other way this can be done for her?

Hi Guys,

I recently applied for the renewal of my passport using the Home Affairs site. At the payment process, you are prompted for your bank details info. Once it passes the first step which initiates the first process, the status shows as Bank Authorisation Received.
At this point you have to authorize this via your banking app. I use Nedbank and under Transact ->Pay, you go yo Government Payments and you should see a Pending Payment for your application.
Once you authorize this, it will take a minute or two to reflect on the DHA site and this will allow you to proceed to Bookings.
My partner uses FNB and there is a similar process for Government Payments.
Hopes this helps...

Years back I did payment via app but am with Std Bank. Was getting my Visa before heading to Kenya. So happy I did because I ended up leaving the Wynberg HA before folk well ahead of me who had to pay. It's astounding how they can slow down even the simplest procedure once they involve their staff.
