Don't know if this is the right place for this mods can remove if its not the correct place.
My iPhone 13 got stolen, at an intersection. Thief's got into my icloud changed the password and switched off find my phone.

I am unable to access the phone and erase

Thief's are able to use Mr d and uber eats account
Banks have delinked my phone

Phone is not local stock. Purchased oversees
Need to know if I can remotely erase phone.
I've exhausted all my options nothing seems to work

All I need is for the iPhone to be erased

Hay bud

If it doesn't pop up here from your apple account then it is gone

No way to erase or lock

You could go try & ask apple if you have a police document

Blacklist the iphone ( sadly only blacklists in SA )

Sadly best case is to go to apple with a police document & request for them to erase the phone
You would need the original receipt of purchase
& probably a ccd email from someone at that store & apple & maybe the police case #

Sadly if they have taken your FMI off & loaded it with a new icloud there is not much you can do , apart from the above headache

I don't have access to the imei number. How would I block or blacklist it. They are currently using my icloud. They have access to everything. Only thing that I managed to do is delink bank account.

Is there a possibility to do something through Google? Get imei to blacklist it?

Gonna have to explain to Apple and beg them to take action. Have a police case and affidavit handy. Having a compromised iCloud account is bad news.

Log into the iCloud and you can lock it or erase it from there I believe. Just need your Apple ID email and password, also if there is 2 Factor Authentication, might need to do a sim swap to get the verification code to log in.

Edit: Nvm I can't read apparently

Also kids, this is why MFA is necessary and your Multi Factor should not be on your primary device

How would they get into your iCloud?

Don't you have recovery contacts set up?

Also Apple will help you if you have the proof of purchase, that's mostly what they want to know if the phone is yours or not and there must be some sort of history to show what devices were linked to you or your number

If they have changed your password & are now using your apple account

There is not much you can do

You can log into your google your linked in & all those externally & remove your device from trusted devices
Essentially detaching whatever accounts you can from that apple account, Crypto accounts would be super important aswell

Then all thats left is to beg apple

If you have your box, you can find IMEI of your Iphone on the box & the serial number which will help when you bring it to apple, with all the documents & maybe get lucky

If you have a main email that isnt apple & you set the recovery email to that email you could have a way in

& then this is where you would need to get the new simcard to receive authentication

---------------------------------

I would start with getting your simcard replaced
CRYPTO ASSETS!!!! after your simcard this would be important
Then start detaching your accounts that you can recall are linked to your apple account ( Linkedin or anything else )
Contact each important support email
As you can atleast start receiving verification SMS

Sadly if they have taken over your in a really tough situation

I really am sorry that this happened to you man

Thought it was impossible for anyone to get into it. I tried changing the password as they had changed it. They cancelled the request to change password
I've exhausted all options on my side

Start with getting a new simcard

You might be able to authenticate a request with the sim swap

Sorry once again that this happenend

Goodluck

Try finding your box , receipt

If you have the receipt you could contact the place you bought it from & hopefully give you the serial & IMEI

I'm assuming you were using your phone at the intersection you mentioned and it was unlocked?

Really kak situation. With it locked you would have a lot more options. Sadly if it was unlocked they can use everything that you were logged into like your emails etc and then request to change the passwords on everything with the 2FA being useless as it would send an email (that they have access to) or an SMS (which they also have access to).

Also watch out if you have cards stored on Apple Pay, as if they've taken over your Apple account and reset the passcode then they could use those too for <R500 per tap transaction as that doesn't require a pin at most banks. You might have to get your bank to send you new cards.

Shouldn't be able, even unlocked on my iphone at least when I do a password change for icloud it asks for the phone pin and (when you have multiple ios devices) the 2fa request will be sent to another device to ask for a yes/no confirmation and then either face/touch id or that specific device pin to confirm the yes response. There is no sms involved. There might an additional setting required for what I've described, though generally speaking everyone should be encouraged to use the most secure setting possible.

Thief's got into my icloud changed the password and switched off find my phone.

Unfortunately if they are at that point then it's game over, you are fully compromised with no recourse. You will have to externally disable and unlink all your authenticated devices and accounts. If you have a full recent backup, you can try load that backup onto a spare phone to gain access to your existing apps and then delink your account through that. One potential saving grace though is that if you used different passwords for the phone password and icloud, then they might have not been able to compromise the actual device password, if the phone is off then they can't get back in.

Everyone with an iPhone must turn on the Stolen Device Protection option in Settings.

It's off by default but prevents passwords being changed without FaceID or TouchID even if someone has your passcode.

Thanks for sharing! Didn't know about this option, have just set it up.
