Fiancée Surprised Me with a gift but…

Hey all,

So my Fiancée surprised me with a gift for booking her dream wedding venue.

So the issue is that she doesn’t know PC’s all too well and she bought me a GPU.

She didn’t realise I have a length issue (lol) but because I’m running an Lian Li DAN A4 H2O, it has a max GPU length of 322mm.

My new card is 344mm…

I can run the setup as the images show, without a problem but I would rather have a card that fits, inside of the case fully.

The card is the XFX Speedster MERC 310 RX 7900 XT.

Should I trade the card for another one? If so what would be a even/fair trade, as I’m not too up to date with AMD GPUs.

It looks like the pcb ends just after the 3x8pins. You could potentially watercool it, get a block that fits inside the case?

There isn’t space for another rad. The top part of the case has the 240mm cpu rad already. 😭 thought about hacksaw for a split second but fiancée wouldn’t be very impressed.

Your fiancé wanted to get you something that she thought would make you happy. It’s on you for not discussing about these things before but she will probably feel a bit shit if you sold or traded her thank you gift.

Look at it this way, what’s more important, her happiness or your TINY thing. If it’s your tiny case, then sell the card. 🤷‍♂️

Lol well they are so far keeping up with their side, so in good faith. I can’t put them.

She saw me looking at it for a while and didn’t realise there can be that big of a difference in length of GPUs.

We discussed it and she told me I should consider trading it, as it does look ridiculous and she feels bad for not trying to figure out if there would be an issue.

3D Print a new spiffy front plate with the correct size holes for the case screws and make it a custom small format case?
