Putting out a feeler to see if there are skills and interest. stuff is not formalised yet.
Basically, very well-established company is gradually developing a new payment offering - as the business builds, we're going to need people with payments experience, but mostly the people we're seeing are technical - either architects or developers. we have that covered to some extent, but the real gap is the business and commercial payments people, and specifically, people who understand the bank and merchant markets, MBA or BComm, and who understand how banks and merchants consume push payments etc. While the company is established, the specific project is running very much like a fintech/startup, and so we have a lot of leeway to define and acquire very specific skills. That also implies we're looking for the kinds of people who thrive in startup mode as well - people with digital product development experience, for example, and people who understand the commercial dynamics of platform businesses would also be welcome.
The resourcing ramp-up will be slow, with the project expected to deploy next year, but it would be good to start getting the core team who'll inherit it together now, and bring them along.
Position Available: Payments Product/Market Developers
Number of Positions: probably around 3 initially, more next year
Employment type: permanent

Starting Date: November/December 2020 (earlier is possible too, but not critical)
Location: Johannesburg
Job Description/Requirements: Payments industry experience; ideally bank and merchant acquiring experience; financial and commercials skills (by which I mean can independently analyse markets and construct views on product portfolios, lifecycles, etc); digital product and platform experience preferred
