Anyone else with these crooked bastards? Took my payment on the 26th Feb and Emailed me at 11pm on 28th that they no longer providing the paid for service.
My R1007 is still not paid back despite numerous emails..

Looks like the Evonet thieves have bolted.

I am in the same boat my friend. After some restrained emails (I am surprised I was able to keep my anger in check at the time), I got email responses and promises that I would be reimbursed:
"Hi Nicholas,

Thank you, your bank details have been given to management.
Refunds will happen within the next few days.

Thanks
Hermien
"

That was on the first of March. No surprise, no money came through and they are silent.

@MSI1104 : Please post on this thread or PM if you have any luck going forward. I will do the same. Not sure what the next step should be if they are not paying.

Okay I paid with snapscan and they have intervened. Apparently they have confirmed numerous disputes in this regard and have contacted them on my behalf.
I was asked to contact them during next week if this is not resolved... I am pissed as I had to pay Telkom 1055 Rand this morning for 200+200 package.

Another update on Crystal Web - and one I've been expecting since November.

EvoNet who have failed and refused to pay for the client book that they bought have shut down DSL and LTE services.

They allege that the reason is because "a large proportion of customers have continued to pay Crystal Web directly for these services, and have not switched over to paying EvoNet, in spite of various notices and reminders of the changeover being sent" but less than 10% of customers continued paying Crystal Web (which represented negligible reduction in their debt). The truth is more likely that the strategy of trying to milk consumers goodwill dried up faster than expected.

The reality is that from June 2017 the ship has been steered towards this inevitable rocky path due to incompetence. I genuinely believed (and based on quite a lot that has emerged since believe) that the agreement reached for cession of the client book to EvoNet was the best course for all concerned. The problem is that I also believed that the individuals involved with EvoNet had some intent to actually make a business work. What I don't know at this stage is whether the employees are being retrenched and what the next series of blunders from EvoNet will be.

Yip im in the same situation with them, got the first reply as well when i sent them my baking details for the refund, now after 2 weeks of no reply ive reported the transaction with the emails as frudulant to the bank
not sure how long that is going to take

When I paid them, I did an FNB - FNB eft, and have requested a reversal from FNB. They said they are actioning it, but I think they need permission from the recipient. Not holding out hope to be honest.

Just a update I paid with snapscan and initiated a dispute with them. They seemed ti be aware if it and actually pointed me to a subreddit and MyBroadband thread...

Looks like they are not falling for evonets bullshit lines.

You can reverse debit orders through your bank.
If you paid by card, ask your bank to process a charge back

Holy shit I just read 2 long ass articles on NAG and I had no idea this was even possible. Condolences to all affected. There I was complaining years ago when my net was down for a few days due to Telkom's cable faults.

So I have been in further talks with FNB (My payment was an EFT), and I have started the dispute process. Not entirely confident it will pan out, but I have my hopes.
