Deal Thread URL: [Reseller] - [PRICE DROP! CHEAPEST!] Adobe CC 2020 All Apps For 1 Year [R799] | Software
Seller:
@Arise
Description of Bad Deal:

I am part of a photography club. I and 15 other club members bought a total of 44 codes of the above R799 Adobe CC package in Sep/Oct 2020.
I had introduced the package to the club when I saw it here.
At the beginning of Feb 2021 is when my problems started.

Subset 1: Two members that had not used their purchased codes tried to redeem their codes and could not - the below message was received for each code, and Adobe chat service also confirmed that codes were no longer valid [total of 6 codes x R799] - this is what I have requested refunds on so far.

Subset 2: I and some other members received an email from Adobe that our packages were for schools and would expire on 15 Feb 2021. However our packages are still active - not sure for how long though.

Subset 3: I have started receiving emails back today (17/02/2021) from other members, and their accounts no longer work. Members did not request cancellation.

Subset 4: The other members who have not received any email from Adobe [yet] and their accounts still work.

When subset 1 above came up, I came back on this forum and found the thread on the fraudulent codes. I contacted Arise about this.
Zero apologies and just a copy paste list of items I need to send him for each person.
I have been accumulating these from my account and the other members.
Thereafter no feedback other than he sent the code to Adobe when I kept contacting him every couple of days.

I contacted him yesterday (16/02/2021) with a request for refund on subset 1 as these did not work at all. These codes can also be verified immediately on the Adobe site as not working.
The response was that he has a backlog of refunds that he is working on, and people are sending him generic screenshots that codes are not working and when he checks they are working. I took exception do his insinuation of me trying to reverse-scam him as these codes are immediately verifiable on the Adobe redeem site. Earlier in the day, he said he wasn't at home and would check later. I sent a reminder at 5pm and he said he would check when he gets off his shift at 8pm. No response on this.

I contacted him twice this morning before he replied that he is doing refunds slowly and when he gets home 5-6pm he will let me know what number I am on his refund spreadsheet as he has a backlog that he getting through slowly. Again no response at the agreed time.

He has given zero apologies or any concrete indication of refund other than stalling.

When I got the first email from Adobe about these being for schools, I immediately forwarded same to all members that bought the same, apologised for the inconvenience and offered to refund them personally. And then to be accused of trying to claim undue refund by the seller?

I'm going to have months of endless headaches with coordinating all these accounts. Whatever non-legitimate way these codes where acquired and sold to us, are now being torpedoed by the original Adobe license issuer.

[Below is just my opinion]
The iTrader system on this site should be reviewed. I have also seen negative posts in deal threads being removed (perhaps by the poster themselves), but this gives newcomers the incorrect impression.

These codes are sadly not lifetime membership (whole thread about this) & there is definitely some explaining to do.

I also organised a ton of these codes for myself and other web developers, with minimal markup to cover PayPal & FNB fees. It has cost me an arm and a leg to personally refund all the requests. I could have bought two MacBook Airs with that money at this point.

Four people contacted me today with that cancellation message.

Edit: for the week ended Fri 19 Feb, I've refunded 8 of these codes. Arise did refund me previously though and hopefully there won't be issues with this wave of revoked codes.

no they are sold as 1 year membership - unlike the other scam office 365 bogus lifetime keys that are allowed on carb to be sold for some unexplainable reason.

1 year prepaid licenses (not lifetime) - people bought multiple as these were stackable.

We are a club (not-for-profit) - all members paid the exact price quoted on here R799 each.

Something that might save you a lot of money if you're personally refunding codes as I am, is to pro-rata the refunds. Seems perfectly reasonable to refund unserved time for each code, and it makes the cash flow more manageable.

I don't mind losing out overall. I certainly don't expect Arise to compensate me for PayPal and FNB fees or for people who bought through me to have that deducted from their refunds. But it would be nice to not lose quite so much money over this saga.

Its best to buy these codes for personal or testing use only. For more than 2 or companies, just get the real thing

Feedback wasn't anything new from what I've already posted in previous posts.

Waiting.

Stupid question. Why are they mods so quiet regarding this?

I don't see us being quiet on this. @Arise is sorting people out AFAIK. And staff have been asked to be added into the PM's between @Arise and his clients.

Just putting this here, although not really a bad deal, just lack of response.

I had an office key from Arise that revoked the activation on two occasions of inputting it into a new PC. He had explained there was a process but would supply another key.
The second time this happened he asked for a screenshot which I supplied and he would then sort it out the next day and still have not received a response from him which is now about a month ago if not more. Seems to be in the same time period all this happened.
