D3 HC level 70!

Well done bud. Really is glorious getting there. Did you finish the campaign on level 70 or did you just level up in Adventure Mode?

We can now run rifts/bounties as I only play HC Chars. We can even run rifts to collect/share gear as I also have a HC wiz.

Any close calls of death late?

I wish this was possible :/ I have tried 3 hardcore toons so far, each time i get to about level 20-30 and then my internet decides its time to disconnect in game aaaaaaaaaaand its gone.

Weirdest thing is my internet is mostly solid, until i launch a game, then i get like 3-5 desyncs a night. Epic fail.

Congrats on the 70 though :D

I played the campaign, beat Malthael on Hard at level 50 I think, then bounties and rifts to 70, playing on expert at the moment, had a few close calls with getting jailed + frozen + arcane!! Gonna play with my HC toon more often now, need to gear her up!! Sitting at around 4mil toughness and just over 200k dps ;)

Just from my experience with the Wiz so far.

Make sure you have at least these 3 passives if you haven't got them running already.

Dominance and Unstable Anomaly (This is a must in HC)

Audacity works quite well too but not a must depending on your build.

You must always have Teleport/Wormhole rune. It has gotten me out of countless bad situations- unstable anomaly has only kicked in once. I'm currently able to run on T2 with a few champs where I have to make sure I focus.

HC is way way more fun- I lost interest in SC long ago. The added thrill of not just reviving makes the game more hair raising so to say. As for DC's. If you ever see your ping spike or some lag kick in, quickly teleport to a safe location. If a DC kicks in you can hopefully survive- UA will also protect you in those kinds of situations.

Hahaha, this is what i am running, I am focusing on more survivability than DPS and its working out for me pretty good so far, i can tank white mobs and elites on Expert currently:

Ashe - Community - Diablo III

3 survivability passives and 1 AP regen passive

Gz dude :) making me think about starting a HC wiz now :? must be a completely different game.

Hahaha, it changes EVERYTHING!! Make 1 mistake and you're dead, and then you have to start over, you go into every battle with caution, and you make sure that you ALWAYS HAVE AN EXIT STRATEGY!! MY Wiz uses teleport to get me out of sticky situations, saved my butt more times than i can count(getting walled in with arcane under isn't very nice), also those pesky goblins, if they run off into a pack, don't ignore the pack and chase them , last time i did that i agro'd 2 elite packs(on Expert difficulty) that almost ended me!!

It's an intense game mode, its fun when i get bored playing softcore, but can lead to a ragefest if you high level toon dies with all your nice gear...

Lol hectic! Yeah it seems like it adds a different level of fun to the game. Think I'll give it a go later tonight. Maybe I'll go with a barb or monk.

My first HC toon died at lvl 20 because i got careless, then i began playing properly with my 2nd toon, we can roll together when you level up ;)

Yeah I'm going for it. After 1600 hours played I think it's about time I play the game properly :p

Aaaaand level 31 Sader still alive! :D Completed Act 1 - 4, killed Diablo last night. Quite fun so far, feels like I'm playing a new game lol.

The Crusader is a good char to play HC with. He can face tank a lot of monsters. Just make sure you have steed charge to get you out of sticky situations.

Yeah seems quite fun too. Can't wait to get to 70 so that shit can get real lol. Enjoying the journey there so far though.

Fail!! Play HC with a squishy toon, not a tanky one, makes the experience much more fun ;)

Lol wiz can be quite tank you know. Only reason I took Sader is because I've never played it, and after 900+ wizard hours I've kinda had enough of it. The experience is loads of fun though! Was kakking myself before every boss like "What if I die before 70 on my first toon like Spidey  "

Hahahaha, i didnt take HC too seriously with the first toon and the game taught me a lesson, I am really enjoying my softcore monk so I might make a HC monk soon!!

Whats you r b.net nick? I'll add you.

Level 60-70 is the worst- tread lightly. There just seems to be a noticeable difference in difficulty jump until you get geared at 70 where it eases off. This is where you really have to make sure you have some nice gear. I'd be more than happy to help you power through a few levels sometime. You will level faster too. I lost 2 Crusaders on HC already. One level 56- careless. The other was a level 70 where I got stuck with a large amount of champions surrounding me (That's when I quickly realised Steed Charge is a must in HC).

Now, my Crusader holds his own and I've long passed 100 paragon points on HC. I also recently found my favourite shield so bump to T2/3 is within reach.

Yeah monk is awesome. Not sure about HC builds though but they are quite durable. Btag is zef#2301. Plus none of my friends play HC so I feel like they all watching me waiting for me to die :D

Nice, gz, 100 HC para is quite an achievement :) ya I gathered that much on SC, 60-70 is not exactly a breeze. Shot for the power-leveling offer but I want to solo a bit more, being my first HC character and first Sader I want to get a good feel for both, up close and personal you know. Don't wanna find myself at 70 not knowing how the character handles herself then dying ;)

I have 1 friend with a 70 barb, my others friends played HC, died and went back to SC, those noobs...So we will have a small HC party to run with

And so my 58 Sader died last night due to my Afrihost account running out of cap :( lol.
Immediately started again and back up to lvl 43 though! HC rocks.

Just remember. It's not about IF you die...but rather WHEN. It will happen. A DC must be so disheartening though. My first HC char went down when I thought it would be a good idea to ALT-F4 after seeing lag and being in a bad situation...thinking it would kick me and save my guy. Log back in 2 min later...and he's gone.

The second time around was way better. I was on T1- playing for a while and had just gotten some good gear to move to T2. The party I was in was pretty good. Clearing out rifts pretty swiftly. Unfortunately at one point we all got in a bad situation when we had pulled 4 packs of elites. I just saw everybody scramble and 1 by 1 they dropped. I held my ground long enough- last man standing. I just got surrounded and there was literally min place to even click on open space. Just monsters. I popped a health globe in the hopes of finding a gap to run through- nothing, just stuck.

This was the lesson I learnt- always have "steed charge as a skill". An escape route is a must. You really must think.

It was a very cool moment. My heart raced- I knew I was in trouble after the fist guy went down. I think we all did. It felt glorious to go down in battle like that. Nothing like this ever happens in SC- hence I have no reason to play it.

Keep at it. When you hit 70..those feels.

Haha pretty epic tale there! Yeah when I began HC I had that in mind - going to die at some point, not expecting to die but basically I've embraced the fact before it happened. Which is why I could laugh about it when I got back online straight after. Right before I dc'd I was chatting to a friend about dc'ing and dying, how some people make it alive, etc. and them boom - I get dc'd 2 seconds later, was quite funny. The guy was nice enough to dedicate the next 2 hours or so boosting my new character.

But yeah those feels, total different experience. Can't wait for 70 ;)

Nice, so there is a HC community here.

Got some of my chars to 70 on HC.
Started out with Barb 60 doing easy to beat Malth and unlock adventure. He got to lvl66, and gave me a couple of marquise gems. I switched to Wiz and got to 70.
1st crusader pegged being too bold, running with a 2300dps -28lvl reduced Weapon on T2 lvl50ish. Oh the anguish at losing my best HC weapon....
2nd Crusader got to 70 running through on perma Expert mode. Red marquise helped alot. Nowhere near death at any time though, buts that was from paragon and gems.

My crusader is budding very well, got his Ring of Granduer within 20 bounties, Thunderfury the rift after lol. Mincing through Master with the ability to go afk at any time(except Malthael).
Been a few days farming Cains and Born's sets (didn't have Captains or Aughilds plans) but its the souls I can't find fast enough not the mats :( Still got a very bad Born's chest with armour(needs AR) and 2 sockets....no souls for 3 sockets.
Ninjatsu - HC Crusader - Statham (The mug and accent got me to name him before I realized it was FF12 Balthier)
Currently : finishing off WD & Monk to HC70 so I can get rid of the lvl 60 kuk filling my stash. This is really slowing my Crusader....but soon my precioussesss will be 70!! all of thems!!! hahahaha!!!

Lol nice! So wish I had a strong level reduced weapon, makes all the difference.

Got a question btw for anyone who knows...Do found/taught plans scale with your blacksmith? For example I found Aughilds and Captains plans on my Crusader at like level 40 so now its not the same items that can be crafted at level 70. Wondering if once I get to 70, will I have to find these plans again?

Ah, those nefarious plans.

Nope. The lvl 40 Aughilds stays 40, the lvl 23 Cains stays 23. You have to find their lvl70 counterparts once you are playing in lvl70 game. The crafting works based on the item level in the crafting list, not your character level.
You will notice the word on the end changes slightly. If you had all the mats from D3 V then below lvl60 is a crafting spree (was running a Cains and Borns at lvl 25ish too, haha was so fun to see almost full leg on a lvl 30 char)
You find them very quickly once you get to lvl70 though, about 2 plans an hour (brown plans will drop more often than greens)

Yeah I noticed the pieces were named differently. Just thought they might scale up same way as some legs do, like Nagel Ring for example. Found one yesterday, trifecta at level 20 or something, was laughing. But like you'd get the same Nagel Ring at 70, same affixes same name just higher stats. But yeah I should find them soon after I get to 70, I remember the first week after I got RoS, playing sc half of the legs I got were plans -_-

Didn't you know the word "Thunderfury" is a swear word on here..
