Cyberpunk 2077

Anyone with a 3080 playing this game. I am getting terrible FPS between 45 to 70 on ultra with RT at 1440p.

I noticed that the GPU usage is at around 70%. Is this the game optimization issue or is it just me?
Any ideas why my GPU usage is not close to 100%? Running the game on R5 3600.

If you selected the big penis it impact frame rate , you must go back and re-create your character. Its a bug in the game currently.
That's what you get for overcompensating I guess :ROFLMAO:

That sounds about right? Surely you didn't think you're going to get 100FPS at 1440P on Ultra with raytracing? Turn ray tracing off. From what I've seen for the most part it looks better that way anyways. 3080 strong, but not THAT strong.

What's your frames like on med settings with the 1080

I'm guessing 40-50ish. Not stellar but somehow even dropping everything to nothing doesn't feel any faster. The game seems to have like a permanent motion blur no matter the FPS.

Specs are no longer accurate btw. I keep not updating them but it's a 3600XT now that was being eaten by Steam during the unpacking.

Just wondering why the GPU usage is not close to 100% though? Not expecting 100 FPS but was expecting constant 60 FPS.

The Steam unpacking process can chow most CPU's down. Wouldn't worry about it.

Nah man. Raytracing tanks frames by a large margin. I've seen black ops cold war which doesn't even look close to anything spectacular tank by 70'ish FPS on my mate's rig when enabling raytracing in multiplayer, regardless of what the raytracing settings are set at. And the raytracing barely makes any visual difference in multiplayer.

If you're hoping to improve framerates without resorting to the low or medium presets, your best bet is to start with dropping the Screen Space Reflections Quality to medium or even off. Based on our testing, that will improve performance by 10-15 percent. Volumetric Fog Resolution has the next biggest impact on performance, and dropping to low should add another 10-15 percent to your fps.

Beyond those two settings, finding ways to boost performance becomes a bit more difficult. All of the shadows-related settings combined (Local Shadow Mesh and Quality, Cascaded Shadows Resolution and Range, Distant Shadows Resolution, and Ambient Occlusion) are only good for another 10-15 percent. And if you drop everything else to minimum (stuff like Film Grain, Depth of Field, Motion Blur, Anisotropy, and Level of Detail), you only get about another 10 percent.

Must be a bottleneck somewhere. I get high usage no problem. Game is very CPU heavy.

Took some screenshots for you at one of the more intensive locations with the OSD on, 1440p with an overclocked RTX3080.
Film grain, motion blur and chromatic aberration always off.

Max settings (some even to Psycho) with Psycho RT and with no DLSS (native) :

Tuned settings (everything max except cascade shadow resolution on medium, volumetric clouds on medium, volumetric fog on medium, Space Screen Reflections on Ultra) with No RT and no DLSS (native, and how I've chosen to enjoy the game) :

Thanks for sharing these screenshots. I prefer the RTX shots. Fine details but maybe I stand alone?

Don't know about HDR, apparently it's not a great HDR implementation on console so I don't know how it is on PC.

I have a feeling that the desert is making everyone think the game performs better than it actually does. Go start a corpo path for 15 minutes and you'll see how the FPS tanks in the city (where you'll be spending most of your time) and how DLSS messes up the edges.
I did corpo. My frames in the city are between 60fps and 70fps 99% of the time. Indoors 70 to 80fps. The ultra dlss preset. It runs and looks beautiful. I don't want to touch any settings. Its running great

Thank you!

I'm guessing I'm going to play through with something similar to your config in the last screenshot.

Is this with RTX on or off and which mode on DLSS?

I haven't launched yet but will this evening. Also running a 3080 and ultrawide but my CPU might hate me (7700K)

I don't know how you guys can play video games at 60hz.....

60fps/hz can feel laggy when you're used to much higher.

I find that I am sensitive to any fps below 70-75fps in first person games so I try to avoid it. 3rd person I am good till 58fps.

We'll see what I can tolerate before I start turning shit down.

I'm a frames/ps whore.

One thing guys, hit Gameplay settings and turn down crowd density, seems to help nicely.
