CPU and GPU temps

Eish sounds like that 8700k needs a sexy delid. Mine idles at 24 or so. Maxes out in gaming at 59c +- a degree. 74c under small fft load in prime95 5ghz 1.36v all core full avx, on a corsair h115i pro, Ml140s fans running at 1000rpm.

I think i need to clean stuff, and also, i may wanna increase the fan curve, think i set it to max out at 50% to reduce noise :p

Couldnt agree more. Those type of designs restrict the airflow so much. Go for this :D

A simple way too keep your gpu from heating up so much is to turn on Vsync and run the game in 60Fps

At the moment before he sorts out everything its better that toasting he's gpu

Is it purely because of the intake being restricted that you suggest this? because the only difference i can see is the intake, the rest appears the to have the same functionality?

Depending on ur budget, the evolve x is the best case on the market. A perfect mix of pretty and maximum functionality.

If I haven't just bought this case and now need to buy a AIO this would have been an option but now after all this. Sadly its a no go.

Yeah I'm either going to mod it or just change it. Not sure yet. what case can you recommend?
I've been using cube matx cases for years, so I wouldn't know what to recommend to you :)
Definitely look for something with a more open intake, that phanteks suggested above is actually quite nice

Boss case as well, the evolve x is the upgrade. I had this case for 1.5years till I upgraded. Temps were just as good. I see he says no shipping but with the full packaging as stated you could easily ship this with TCG for around 200-300.

I have the following:

i7 7700 non K
MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X
Cooler Master ML240R AIO mounted infront with fans pulling air into the case Link
Phanteks P350X Link
2x140mm top extract fans
1x120m rear extract fan

Idle temps are:

GPU - 41
CPU - 37

Gaming load temps are:

GPU - 71
CPU - 55

Prior to the AIO I had a single 120mm AIO and prior to that a Hyper 212 Plus dual. My current AIO has brought down temps around 20 degrees on the CPU - I am quite impressed with this AIO and it is very silent. Problem with me is also the case. It's quite compact, and the GPU creates a lot of heat which has nowhere really to go.

I have considered selling the case and going with a Cooler Master H500. Then I can top mount my AIO, there are 2x200mm fans pulling air in with a mesh front panel, and 1x140mm rear fan to extract heat. My previous case was a Cooler Master HAF 912 Advanced, and my temps were much lower with it. Sad I sold it, but it was outdated!

So i looked into things yesterday, my 8700k was running into 90C under load. Checked the voltage, which was on "auto" and runnning 1.45v at times. I manually set it to 1.3v in the bios, and now its roughly 10C lower and stable so far

Hi guys,

What are your opinion on this Case with a 360mm Rad to use with the CPU?

I'm also going to do the delid but only once we return from vacation.

Do you have a fire extinguisher in the vicinity?
1,2,4,6 or 9kg? I have a few around.
Haha thanks for that answer, I'll pass then.
Im thinking of going Full tower as well to promote better airflow.

Maybe try this case: Jetfire
I haven't had an issue with mine, just remove the front plastic shield, after that you will be A-For-Away.

I have modded mine substantially to fit in a 360mm Radiator.

the only case worth considering for me would be the ASUS HELIOS once local pricing is released ;)

Rather look for something with a mesh front with space for 2x 140mm or 3x 120mm, and space on the top for at least 2 fans. Depending on the aio that you get you may not need to delid just yet

Hi all

I noticed when I play scum that i get freezes like for a second.
I never paid much attention to it but I recently got a new case and with setting it up I had a look at my temps.

My Cpu is a i7-8700K (Stock) and GPU is Asus ROG Strix 1080ti which all runs stock speeds. I have a CPU cooler Coolermaster Hyper 212 With push-pull config fans.

I monitored my GPU temps and it appears to settle at 84 C when playing - This is also the default GPU Temp Target setting.
MY Cpu runs at about 70 C- 80 C.

The room the PC is in, is really hot compared to the rest of the house.
I have a few questions if someone could assist please?
1. Could the GPU be thermal throttling?
2. The CPU temps also seem high to me, are they?
I replaced the Thermal paste on my GPU about a month ago.
My GPU had an Idle temp of 70 degrees and fan speed was constantly very high.

after replacing the paste my idle temps went down to 50 degrees and max temps are below 70 degrees.

Hi dash

I'm selling my case and getting a new one.
I'm thinking about the one recommended in this thread - Phanteks P400A
and then getting this H150i radiator - H150i

I'll be using the rad in front and the the 2 top and 1 rear as exhaust.
I'll see the amount of air remaining after the cooler and perhaps add aditional fans to create a push - pull config on the rad in front.

Would you guys recommend this setup I have in mind?

You all have been very helpful thus far and I appreciate it allot.

I doubt its the paste, when at idle it drops to 33C and after the test with the side panel removed from the case it never goes above 63C.
so the GPU temp have been sorted.

You'll see a huge difference with that setup, and the stock fans on the newer corsair coolers are surprisingly decent

Well, I swapped from a crappy case to the H500, while CPU/GPU temps have improved a little, the biggest change was the VRM temps, which dropped by like 20C (due to a little hot-pocket that formed in the old case).

So now I have the 2x200mm on a push-pull with 3x120mm H150i sammich. Also have a 120 at the back on the 200mm in the top. While the system is fairly loud compared to say my work machine, i REALLY need that extra cooling as I am running my 6950x at 4.2GHz 24/7 All Core (at 1.29) and my RAM at 3000 (something like 18's & 38).

Sounds like an airflow problem then

Bought myself the Phantek P400A case, I also got myself the Corsair H150i and the a 3 pack Coolermaster MF120R ARGB Fans

Hopefully this will solve the issues. Thanks for all the advice and help guys.
