I still maintain that QVL is a sham. My whole life I have used stuff that has not been QVL'd. I think this is a glitchy 8 slots filled hardware bug. I think the easiest thing is to swap and get 1600MHz. The hardware today is just becoming more and more fragile....never before have I battled with boards, SSD's and RAM like I have the past year.
