COD Advanced Warfare PC

I'd like to pick this game up but don't really want to if it's not getting local/dedicated servers. Think was rumours before it launched, but has anyone heard more on this topic?

Any news on local servers? Would like to buy this but if it is anything like ghost ill pass.

Still no local dedicated servers from what I can tell. They do exist, just not here...

Performance issue question:
We're at a lan and the two older Radeon pcs are running the game fine on medium/high settings, but after around 15 minutes of play the frame rate starts crashing. Exiting and reloading the game fixes it for the next 15 minutes or so, and then it starts slowing down again. It's not a heat issue and they have the latest drivers; what else?

#1: i7 920, 3x4gb 1333, 2gb 6950, win7 x64
#2: high end i3, 1x8gb 1600, 1gb 6850, win 8.0 x64

I can run the game fine on my 1GB 6950, on highish settings. Could you post a screenshot of your settings, should be F12 in steam games. My CPU is a bit faster than those, but it's not like it runs a 100% the whole time. I doubt drivers are even your problem, since I was running the game with catalyst software from early this year until last week.

I can now run this game and videos are not out of sync anymore....thank you CF 290x's

You're bloody lucky. This game is optimised like k*k for SLI. If I disable SLI and run on a single overclocked 780ti I can run pretty much max settings. With SLI on I have to go down a notch or 2 on gfx and still get microstutter and the odd fps drop. Afterburner reports cards only working around 65% or so. Fail.

I had an issue where after a few minutes of gameplay, the PC would freeze, the screen would show one solid colour, the last bit of audio would start looping and eventually the PC would restart.

This happened during certain iRacing races after a minute or three (cost me a race win or two), rFactor races and with COD: Advanced Warfare within 30 seconds. It happened a few times in COD: Ghosts as well.

This has been happening since late last year and I tried re-installing Windows 3 or 4 times, re-seating RAM, removing some RAM, adjusting power saving settings in Windows and in the BIOS etc. I eventually was ready to chuck the PC in the bin or set it on fire. It was enough to make a shepherd shag his own dog!

This weekend I finally figure it out: I disabled the onboard audio and used the HDMI audio from the GTX 670 to my 32" TV that i'm using as the display. Problem solved. I'm not sure why the onboard audio would cause this but it worked.

Now I just need to learn how not to die so often in COD: Advanced Warfare...

Interesting that you mention this...what motherboard are you running?

I had this happen to me yesterday in COD and immediately thought it was my new 290s that caused the issue....

I'm running the Asus P7H55-M Pro.

That happened to me in a few games as well (same mobo as sig). Thankfully figured it out a while later and updated all onboard audio drivers (Realtek HD etc etc) as well as chipset drivers and it has never happened again.

Thanks for the responses guys. One psu is a Corsair HX650 v2, the other a 700-odd watt Thermaltake, both no more than 3 years old.

We ended up just turning all the settings down to minimums which solved the problem, but sucked. I'm putting it down to early days of a new game. Awaiting (probable) patch... :p

Wow, just saw the audio responses now (Tapatalk).
Will suggest it to the mates. Thanks again.

Yeah... Better chance finding mosh SC. You will always find a game after 20.00

This game is basically dead (from last experience), have not bothered to try it again

Yeah, no one is still playing locally. Joining international games is also a pain, since you have to wait forever for the matchmaking to find something. Just one more reason why dedicated servers are superior, along with a decent server browser.
