Carbie Car Guys!

Sounds like a 156 GTA (3.2L V6) - wonderful machine.

Nail on the head there, these Alfas are budget Ferraris.

I love how rare and exclusive Alfas here. Here in DBN, one must hoot and flash their lights when seeing another Alfa on the road :D
Yep, thats what it looks like. Wish I could have appreciated it more at the time. Stepfather worked for dealerships in BMW, GM, Nissan, Alfa stable. Real father works on old mercs as a retirment hobby. Don't know why it has taken me this long to wake up to the field.

Disclaimer, I have developed a prolonged hardon for the E38 V12.

Prices are going up on those E38's, bite the bullet already.

Wont in this country...

Edit: DB9 would be a great consolation prize. Also, I know they are both bond cars.

Unrelated but I drove two different facelifts and countless pre-facelifts.
The new ones definitely don't punch as hard!
Same engine and same transmission, they're the same car just the facelift has some newer gadgets and a prettier face, the bum end on pre facelift is better looking though. Mine came out the factory last August, they gave me the choice of waiting for the facelift or taking what was available and I didn't want to wait. Since then prices have become ridiculous

Yeah on paper they're exactly the same but suspect the mapping has slight differences.

Picked up my second Alfa a few months back.

Alfa Romeo Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde Squadra Corse

This is a South African limited edition, only 100 made. Mine is number 37.

RGM and Alfa SA worked together to produce these, 1750 4cyl Turbo producing 210kW.

Beautiful car. How have you found the interior quality? Owned alfas before and always found the interior to become a bit rattly after a while.

They've really upped their game. Not a lot of hard plastics, and whatever is plastic is solid. Haven't had any rattles yet and car is 7 years old.

Howzit Guys! I have a 2020 Polo GTi , probably not the most exciting thing for some of you but I love her as my daily. As a mid 20 year old it has all the space I need and the power output is decent 0-100 in 6.7. All stock, no dp or stage 1 yet.
Got the adaptive dampners , leather seats (and heated) digital cluster ,pano sunroof and 18" alloys. Really great all rounder.

Ps : kind of envy you guys in Gauteng, our car community kinda sucks in Cape Town. Alot more events and a larger community up there it seems.

That location looks lovely, also it's not as bad as you think. It's really alive in CPT, also you guys have it better than you think with road condition, twisties and low traffic. Wait until you move to a place that's not that much bigger but has 10-20x the amount of people and probably 20-30x amount of cars on the road with 10x less roads...

Starting to really enjoy this car! That phat ass though.

The 'V' on both of my side badges came off. Any recommendation for local after market options? Might have a same sized 'Supercharged' gel sticker made.

Gave the car a big wash today, started off with some CarPro lift foam to remove as much gunk (and old wax) as possible. Then moved onto using IronX to remove iron fallout (considering the brake failure that just happened) and cleaned the wheels too. Moved onto a wash with CarPro Reset with some lovely 350gsm plush microfibre towels. Once done I used an ultra fine claybar and some claybar lube to get rid of the fine contamants in the paint. Lastly once all dry I applied a nice layer of Collinite 845. I love this wax, gives a super great depth and shine albeit it doesn't last very long at all. I am seriously considering getting my car ceramic coated and just topping that up myself with something like CarPro Reload... it'll probably be quicker and more durable. Heck, if I still want I can put the wax on top of that even.

I also tried polishing the glass but it wasn't very successful, I think I might try again with more time or just give up and replace the glass (it's like $1200 though...)

I also replaced the valve cover, spark plug cover and coolant resevoir bottle! I think the refreshed valve cover definitely looks a lot better than the old one. I didn't realise how bad of a condition it was in until I got it out of the car and put it side by side.

Awesome work!

Collonite wax is such a great product!

Here you go.

ELM327 OBD2 OBDII WiFi Auto Diagnostic Scanner & Adapter available to buy online at @TAKEALOT We offer fast, reliable delivery to your door.
Decided to get one of these.

What software do you use? The link on the box seems to take me to a fongkong site and I get security warning for both the Apple and Android versions and I’m a bit hesitant to install.

I use car scanner

Finally got a proper seat, it was a bit finnicky to get it working at first. Had to take the old seat rail sensor and seatbelt sensor and transplant them. I want a seatbelt extender so that it's not a total pain to put the seatbelt on each time but I finally installed it. It's a Recaro Pole Position, I got it second-hand so had to clean it up a bit but I got it for nearly half the price of a new seat.

Turns out S2000s just love to go through clutch and brake fluid, cape up with my own ghetto solution to replace it more easily and honestly it's worked a charm. This will really help when I take the car out of storage and need to replace all the fluids too.

The only container I had on hand, but a spray bottle of used brake fluid seems pretty evil somehow.

Ah, some good all miata spray.

I own a stock standard albeit factory sport package W203 2006 C180 Kompressor Avantgarde. Vented front brake discs, sport brakes and sport suspension and trim. If I had the moola I would do way more to it, I can take the whole car plus engine apart blindfolded. Who still pays for mechanics XD

Anyone know of any good Volvo workshops in Gauteng?

I see mixed reviews on many of the approved workshops in the area.

Just take it to a Bosch centre. They do good work in my experience.

I actually did enquire at a Bosch centre. A tech advised that a gearbox service should not be done until it starts to misbehave :/

If I'm not mistaken, this service is recommended every 2 years/20 000km
