Carbie Car Guys!

Any recommendations for a nice 35% tint? Looks like it would be around R1.5k at a reputable shop.

PG Glass, better to pay a bit more but you know it will last.

Oof yeah, straight pipes sound awesome till you have a long trip then the drone.

Rogue performance is a bit pricey paid R17,500! but the workmanship is just out of this world!
I did my fiesta ST at Millennium 7. Was awesome, but not sure I would pay that premium again.

There is always TNT. the exhaust does what it supposed to do but the welds look like bird shit.

They are half the price of the fancy smansy shops and I suppose you don't really see the exhaust.

I used TNT in the late 90's when Tom Snr. was still around, They manufactured a full system with side pipes for a 357 Windsor in an AC Cobra replica & also a full system in an F350 dually with a 454cu chev motor that I used with a Jost wheel to to a horsebox. Pricing was reasonable (they were the only ones I could find in Jozi at that time who would even look at the 454 system) and workmanship was excellent.

Nowadays the only place I'd go to would be Steve at RGM & have a Techni-Flow system built. Their attention to detail & workmanship are outstanding.

It was originally a 1.5 Vtec CVT. I manual swapped, then turbo charged it and finally I threw a rod. That prompted me to do a K-Swap and it's been fun.

Phaakmi, that is super nice. N54 or N55? What mods?
Shitty old N55, Just has a few mods.

Bc coilovers with camber plates.
Ebc pads and braided lines
Meth, Downpipe, Intake and File.
Making 257wkw and 678nm

Have a EWG hybrid that needs to be fitted but I want to do baffled sump and bearings first.

I love how you say 'Shitty N55' so nonchalantly knowing that it's probably an absolute blast to drive, especially with that humble mod list. Epic stuff man!

These do not go together.

I really should go get a dual pulley done to get into those high 270s. 250+ sounds nice.

When your bmw friends all have over 300kw you feel slow.

I need to slap the hybrid on that should hopefully push it up to 350kw.

My mates N54 big turbo has 507kw that thing is fucking nuts!

I'm at ~190kw and I feel like that's more than enough. Really need to take my car to the tracks around here though because I think I get the chance to go above 4000rpm only like once a month. Feels like a waste.

Found the source of my very small coolant leak, it was a busted overflow res cap. Replaced that as well as all the other bits around it the past weekend. Sadly the bottle itself was on back-order until August so just tried to give it a clean with the pressure washer but this stuff was baked on there. Shouldn't really matter IMO.

Also gave it a wash and guess I warmed up the tyres enough to leave slight marks on the concrete lol.

You can also see my headlight clear coat starting to peel if you look closely... need to replace them with OEM units before it gets much worse. (Also those meaty front tyres).

I see the thirst is not affecting you. 😀

To achieve the best with the dual pulley, A lot of other mods are required as well. Decat, intake, Ecu tune, tcu tune if auto, carbon clean, and this gives around 45kw /90mm extra. Couple of months ago, this was going to be around 40k

Cooling then also becomes a bit of a challenge

Oh it is! I now want to get the most of EVERY km I drive. :poop:

Yeah I am aware of all the supporting mods required to get the most our of a dual pulley, and to keep it safe. Still deciding. I'm enjoying the car in stock form though. Really well rounded package.

Initially I'm going to start with a tune and see how she goes. Will probably be enough to keep me smiling for quite awhile.
