I suppose I could do that. Always thought it was just easier to do full manifold and exhaust. I got a quote from a reputable shop here in Durban that wants R3500 which I didn't think was too bad.
My exhaust muffler and bits and pieces of the piping are also rusting a bit (being close to the ocean) so I figured may as well.

Eish my man.. That rust will always be a challenge. R3.5k for a full stainless exhaust is chips and cheap dude! Really reasonable.

Yeah exactly. Will probably go with that. The car itself doesn't pull too badly for a little 8 valve 1.6 and the exhaust doesn't sound horrible stock, it's just not very loud.
What's the consensus about tuning after exhaust? I've got rather mixed responses (some saying you need to have the car tuned after doing an exhaust and others saying you don't).
 
Tuning a naturally aspirated engine in 99% of all motors ever produced will have zero to fuckall gains. Even less on a 1.6.

Software after a decat or exhaust on any turbo will net some decent gains.

Audi TT 2.0TFSI
(BWA motor - Same as Golf 5 GTI)

If i learned anything in this period of ownership, if you have the BWA motor,
spend the R632 every service and REPLACE THE DAMN CAM FOLLOWER!!!!!!!!

Where it started:
Full carbon clean (You would cry if you saw the pictures)
PCV delete!

Then:
Induction kit
DV upgrade
Stage 1
(drove this for a year)

Last month:
Mild stage 2 tune (read below)
73mm downpipe
Turbo muffler delete
New thermostat (Car was running too cool, and ultimately fuel heavy)
Replaced in tank LPFP

The full STAGE 2 map will come once the following are in:
S3 intercooler
S3 injectors
R8 coils (maaaybe - my coils seem very stable and well behaved)

On a nice cold day she really struggles to put the power down.

230kw and 700nm

Currently only have a carbon M4 style spoiler and an M3 style bumper that still needs to be sprayed. Planning on doing Meth and Hybrid soon

I miss mine so damn much!

Never got to the 700nm though, that must be so lekker! Next car is definitely a 330d again.

The meth and hybrid is going to be mental dude!!

Good call - I like the way you think...

That said, it could still be possible to make that kind of power at the quoted boost levels with a nice big turbo and a built motor revving to 11k RPM.

I'm dailying an Audi S7 at the moment.


Full exhaust, SRM8xx Hybrid RS turbo's, SRM intake, and APR Stage 2 at the moment - I need to still take it in to get the Stage 3 map loaded to suit the turbo upgrade.

with that much torque it would be great if it were xDrive

2004 Astra G OPC Silver

In terms of mods it has all the Astra H OPC bits and bobs which was referred to back in the day as "stage 3.5". So its VXR turbo, injectors, afm, 255 lph pump, bigger cooler, 76mm dp and exhaust and obviously tuned for all the above.

Sent my snowflakes in for repairs and they got stolen bud [emoji24] and with the 5x110 pcd unfortunately I didn't have a big selection, these how ever IMO suited the car the best from what was readily available.

Jeez I know the feeling. I drive an Astra H GSI and hit a pavement not too long ago and the rim got absolutely wrecked. Long story short, it's so difficult to find 5x110 rims.

You could go to most wheel/tyre places and they should be able to give you a rim job. See what they say?
 
Opinion time!

2 out of my 4 mags are rough, and the other 2 are barely okay. So refurb and colour change is in order.

What colour do you guys think will look good? I don't want the standard charcoal/black. My car is confused red, aka Molten Orange.

Edit: my mate also has one with DP and software. Think he got 132kw and 320nm, but it's such a civil and nice car until you floor it.
