So I'm moving from CPT to JHB at the end of the month and I'm concerned as to how I'm gonna move my PC and monitor. I still have the box for my PC case (Phanteks Enthoo Evolve TG) so that should be fine but I threw away the box for my 34 inch ultrawide monitor. Also not sure whether to remove my 1080ti and put it in the original packaging or just leave it in the case.

Any tips on packing and moving the monitor and case as well as recommendations for good moving services would be great :)

Take the card and as much out of the system. If water coolled drain ans remove as well.

"Box it" sells a box for +/- R160 that you can fit a bicyle in for shipping in the aurgust.

Rap in lots of bubble wrap and make sure you have shipping insurance.

Shipping insurance doesn't cover 2nd hand electronics sadly with couriers.

No Idea how movers work if they do insurance etc. Rather just ask and make sure it's in the paper work

When my school boys had to compete in VS Gaming Comic Con and we flew up...

...take GPU out. Basically everything in box that can be damaged from being thrown. So maybe mechanical hard-drives too. Your call. This becomes hand luggage.

Box the rest. One boy brought a box that used to contain a washing machine, and his PC screen and box had been boxed into this. It goes on the plane. You take it to the terminal, they sticker it, and tell you to take it to oversize luggage hand in place. Which you do, and then walk to the normal place to take your plane. Extra weight charges may apply. On the other end there will be a place where all oversized luggage is take to, ask the people there.

This is one way. If you have boxes, you can also courier it. Everyone here on carbonite eventually courier second hand goods, and we are still here to tell the tale.

Let me rephrase that. They only insure brand new electronics with pop. Otherwise you just making the courier companies richer for nothing. I've spoken to courier guy & postnet who use aramex.

Even the new items they have a cap on how much they insure it for... Kinda daft.
