Hi All

I’m seeking some guidance as I find myself in a bit of a quandary.

After 8 long years, I’m finally planning to upgrade my monitors. I’ve been using theLG D2343P 3D IPS monitors and am considering moving to a 27-inch size.

The primary use of the new monitors will be for my home office setup, with some online gaming in the evenings, specifically Fortnite, Warzone, and Hunt.

I’ve done quite a bit of research and am leaning towards the Dell S2722DGM monitors. However, I’m a bit hesitant about transitioning to a VA panel after years of using IPS.

The Dell G2724D would be ideal as it’s an IPS monitor that meets all my requirements, but the cost is a significant factor. I have a budget of around 10K and need to purchase two monitors now, and possibly a third later in the year. As a Fullstack developer, I would greatly benefit from the additional screen space.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have a VA alienware monitor and the colours really are lackluster.

Rather wait and buy the better monitor. My 2c

I appreciate your feedback. My current thought is to invest in a high-end IPS monitor for my main display and supplement it with two budget-friendly IPS monitors as secondary displays.

Is the link you posted correct? That shows your LG as being a TN panel (not ips)
If so, even going to a VA would be a huge improvement color wise.
Have you got a laptop screen as an aux screen already? Or are you on a desktop?

I was running my laptop + 27" 4k as primary, and also wanted a bump in working space. Ended up replacing the 27" with a 34" 4k ultrawide off carb instead. Very happy with the setup. Almost the same as having 2x 27" @1080p, but no nasty bevels, only 1 plug to worry about when I need to move laptop around etc, and the window docking/anchoring in win 11 works really well.

If you were going only 2 screens, I would say consider a single ultrawide, though it might not be ideal if you still want to get an additional screen along with it. And your gpu might hate you for gaming on the 4k :p

Beyond that, and as mentioned already, skip the VA and just go for the Dell fast IPS. They are really impressive.

Thanks for pointing put the link issue I corrected it.

I am working on a HP ZBook Fury 16 G9 as my office device. I already have the docking station aspect sorted😂.

I tried gaming on the bigger screen 32 to be exact and it just feel to big for me Personally. I don't want to run the monitors in dual. I would like google or whatever open on one and Play game on my primary monitor by using my PC.

The 3 screen aspect is purley for austetic purposes. As I will then "hide" my laptop and not have it on the desk as my 4th screen. " Currently running 2 23inch screens and my laptop screen as the 3rd which has my emails and teams messages open currently.

Picky I know.

Thanks for your input it is highly appreciated and good to hear everyones setup/opinion.
