Deal Thread URL: [For Sale] - 3 x Palit 1660Ti 6GB for sale | Nvidia
Seller:
@Phoenix Energy
Buyer: @Tapsumbong
Description of Bad Deal:

I contacted the seller on the 2nd of Feb and asked for his number to finalise the deal. We came to an agreement on the price for all three of his 1660Ti's. I asked him to provide photos of the cards to which he replied "Sure thing, give me an hour". He only sent the photos on the 6th of Feb.

The photo's he sent showed corrosion on the back plates of all the cards with some on the heatsinks but obscured by the fan shroud. He specifically mentioned that there was bad corrosion on one of the backplates, to which I asked if there was any corrosion on the PCB. He said there wasn't.

I misguidedly decided to follow through with the purchase, probably should have examined the photos more closely. I paid on the 6th of Feb, money cleared on the 7th of Feb. He shipped on the 8th of Feb. I received the cards on the 9th of Feb but was only able to test the cards on Monday the 12 of Feb.

Upon testing I found that 2 cards had faulty ports, one an HDMI port and the other had both a faulty HDMI and DisplayPort. I told the seller and we agreed that I try and RMA the cards.

I contacted Wootware to ask about the cards and was told that they don't honour the warranty if the cards are corroded. I let the seller know and that I would try and clean off what corrosion I could and see if Wootware would accept them. Upon taking a closer look at the cards, I realised there was no way to clean off all the corrosion and that on the card that the seller had assured me didn't have corrosion on the PCB, there was a fairly large green flecked area.

My solution was to ask for a refund on the two faulty cards. The seller then said that he would provide me with two working 1660Tis. I said I would be happy with this if they didn't have any corrosion. He sent pictures of them and they too were corroded. When I saw this I asked for a refund at 11:22am on Friday the 16th of Feb. He hasn't responded since then.

TLDR - I purchased rusty GPU's (like a dumbass) that supposedly had warranty, 2 were faulty, Wootware won't honour the warranty, seller won't refund me for the two faulty ones
