Hi Guys

Bought a card on this forum from a great buyer, tested the card, worked great and been using for about 2 months (not looking for a refund). All the games ran perfectly fine. However, I installed the latest Nvidia drivers, and since then all the games keep crashing without being able to play. I rolled back the drivers, nothing. Formatted my drive and re-installed windows with a fresh copy. Newest drivers, and still the same problem. I can play Civ VI for short periods, but when i try to play Tomb Raider or Boderlands it crashes.

Here is a screenshot after it crashes from Tomb Raider. The other games just crash straight to desktop with no message.

Any ideas, where to start the diagnostics. Could this be a busted card?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

i had that exact same error.and the same systems you having it ended up being faulty memory modules on the card.it can happen.i would rather send the card in for warranty and not mess with it as Asus south Africa is a pain if you mess with your warranty.

Only it took almost 4 weeks to get a replacment card for @G3t Wr3k3d. this was about 2 weeks ago he just got his card back

But only one thing you should check is your psu before sending in for warranty.

If there's no warranty remaining or the warranty route doesn't work out, use an app like MSI Afterburner and lower the memory clocks.

I just ran 3dMark, and runs perfectly, however,

This sucks, will need to run the card on another PC and test. Not sure there still is a warranty. If not, how much of a mission is it to get sorted. Also, any reason it works for Civ?

Would a test like OCCT help identify if it is a memory issue?

You will not get a straight forward answer if it continues giving you the same error even after a fresh install.tested a different psu.and all lastest drivers install
Run memtest aswell just to rule out that aswell.test with a version of windows before 1909 and without the lastest updates as its known to cause some weird crap lately.
if all these basic test fail with the same error send in for warranty.dont mess with opening the screws or warranty seals.

So I downclocked the memory by 100 mhz, and no crashes, with what seems like minimal fps impact. Will creep it up and keep testing. Seeming like this could be a memory issue.

Lowering your memory by 100-200 shouldnt affect FPS in the slightest. Only benchmark results.

Still shitty and sortof messes with your resell value of the card. Would still consider sending it for warranty (y)

Yeah, it is a bummer for resell, but at least it's working for now. Might be mission for warranty, as I bought it on carb from someone who bought it from someone. Think warranty might have run out. Is it a long process?

Depends on who the distributor is. Not all are created equal.

One issue might be stock. Maybe just give them a call and find out? Should be one of the four (five?) big distributors.
