Any way to turn Dark Mode off?

That bloody light mode may have given me superpowers.

Lightning now looks like someone flicking an empty lighter, and I can view sunspots by looking directly at the sun.

setting is also in your profile under preferences - it was always there and not difficult to find

Bottom left of the entire page. Carbonite light V2
Magical!

Did you add it now or was I blind? Because that's where I went looking first based on Xenforo defaults.

Did look there too and didn't find it, hence the thread.

light mode in general is bad for your eyes, especially for most of the carbonites on this platform @Dom @KURT_COCAIN.
they here too much xD

It is not and that statement isn't based in any scientific fact whatsoever. It's all very much pseudo science. Just turn down your brightness if you find it uncomfortable, no need to change the colour palate.

There is no evidence whatsoever that light mode even causes strain, never mind damage and therefore being "bad" for your eyes. It leaves no lasting impression whatsoever as your eyes are made to adapt to light input...kind of literally the job of the pupil you know.

There is plenty of evidence though that dark mode is harder to read...ask yourself why the eye test happens on a white background with black text because it's been proven to be easier to read. Walls of text in studies are also read faster and more accurately in positive contrast polarity.

End of the day Dark Mode is only a design thing and people use it because they like it, not because it's better.

However dark mode on the other hand can be very bad for people like myself with extreme astigmatism as it causes halation which basically makes all the text "flicker" or "fizzle", hard to explain but makes it near impossible to read especially the extreme white on black variety that Carbonite theme uses over the usual grey tones and causes headaches pretty quickly for needing forced concentration.

Over brightness is the real problem and that's easy to solve...just turn it down or even better use ambient light sensors. Ironically most people using dark mode turn the screen brightness even higher, which is the real thing that's bad for your eyes. Lower brightness light mode for most normal people (not suffering very specific conditions) is better for your eyes than high brightness dark mode.

That being said it's all about having the choice.

Re-enabled it, just for you Old man.
Thank you Sir.

See above, it's a very real medical condition and you'll actually find it under accessibility guidelines for many UI/UX design materials.

Can confirm, its working.

I couldn't find a section that relates specifically to the website itself so this was the next best option...doesn't help that I can't really see anything due to the crazy extreme dark mode.

Am I just missing a button? I did find customise but that only lets you change the background not the Theme.
I use Dark Reader — dark theme for every website plugin, to control stuff like that, works like a charm, you can also change the webpage font which can be nice in some scenarios. (It's more aimed at people wanting darkmode on sites that don't support it but it works both ways)

Have you considered that your poephol face is already bleached so bright that you barely notice?

The blacker than black armour seems like an over-compensation.
I'm actually very well tanned...
