Good day

I have a few lithium power tool battery packs to repair

Does anybody have an 18650 spot welder they would rent out , I know I have rented a CPU delidding tool on here before , hoping someone can assist here

Buying a spot welder to weld a few battery packs and put in storage for who knows how long seems like a waste.

Good Day, I know a very well skilled reputable welder that can do work - fully certified, if you're interested DM me and I will send you his number - he is based in Kempton, Chloorkop. However does work all over the country.

Is this something you offer? I have 2 x Makita drill batteries that don't last long anymore that need a repacking

I can definitely repair them as I have over 200 lithium cells 18650s I think I need to buy a welder and open a business 😀

Communica sells a small kit that you can hookup to a battery. It’s around R600 I think.

have over 200 lithium cells
Just remember that the cells used in power tools are a little different compared to laptops and other general applications. The peak current requirement is a lot higher.

I built a pack to convert a NiCd drill to lithium with recovered cells and it would fail under load. Replaced with higher current cells and it was better than new.

@Icedragoon I bought a Minder RC DH30 spot welder last week if you're still looking for one to rent.

Just solder them, first grind the solder spot on the cell ends with a dremel so the solder takes instantly, so you minimise the amount of time and heat you apply. I've been doing that for years with no issue.
