What we have here, ladies and gentlemen (and @NI∀ƆOƆ‾⊥ᴚ∩ʞ ) is a blaster that will shoot welts and make you question your life choices. When playing with others you must wear eye protection as the darts can and will damage your eyes. This is not for children under 13, but younger kids can use it under adult supervision and with a weaker spring.
If you would be so kind and follow the link provided you will see that these things can go for quite a premium. While we are aware that R2000 is still a lot of money for a toy (albeit a pretty cool one), rest assured that we will be able to assist with any issues that you might encounter. It also costs quite a bit in hardware (bolts, springs, nuts) and custom made parts (ramrod core, main spring, plunger tube, flatbars, etc). We have modified the blaster to utilize metric hardware instead of freedumb units and sourced and manufactured all the bits and bobs locally. In the end our price is less than half of what the guys overseas charge and if you have to add shipping it becomes truly ridiculous.
So what the hell IS a Caliburn? It is a 3d printed nerf blaster that contains aluminium flat bars for rigidity. It is also a manual priming springer that fires either full length nerf darts or half length darts. The default config that we build shoots at 200fps +- (that is feet per second you numpty, not frames) and the 1g half darts flying at those speeds possesses an energy of 1.85 Joules. For reference, airsoft often uses a limit of 328fps when using a 0.2g bb which has 1 Joule of energy. Only difference is the impact area of a nerf dart is a bit bigger so skin penetration isn't so common (I would really like to see that though, holy shit).
You can use the magazines from your kids nerf blaster using the full length Elite darts (normally blue with an orange tip) but those darts are not so accurate when firing them as fast as this. They sometimes fishtail resulting in some frustration when trying to pop a cap in some punks' butt, but it is OK for having fun with. We recommend using half length dart mags from Worker alongside one of the following half length darts: Worker Half Length, Accufake half length or the new XShot half length darts. The latter you can buy at Toys R Us and Toy Kingdom now, while the former needs to be imported at great cost from the land of the rising sun. We have a few mags and a few darts which we can also sell at our cost price.
