Right, so i was a stupid kid, bought an 89 skyline from a deceased estate, it sat for a couple of years, then older and more stupid, I fixed it up, got it roadworthy and transferred to my name, now I'm trying to sell it, but webuycars and their ilk want nothing to do with it because it only came onto my name last month...
understandable concern, but i have :
-deed of sale
-permission to transfer the vehicle out of the estate
-letter of executorship
-death certificate
-proof of payment

is there any way i can convince them that im not trying to sell a stolen car?

getting real old having this thing assessed, accepting offers and then getting ghosted....

I don’t think it has anything to do with a deceased estate. It’s just their standard policy. Probably to avoid dealers or people thst buyer repair and sell vehicles.

Colleague from work had a vehicle for some time and decided to buy a second vehicle, then things changed and he had to leave the country. Tried to sell both vehicles through webuycars but they only accepted the older one.

If the vehicle is under your name then the deceased estate has no relevance in terms of ownership, therefore it being a stolen vehicle shouldn't even happen unless you stole it from yourself. Probably your ownership duration is the problem. So either sell it at a later date or sell at a lower price.

If it's in your name, then like has been said, the deceased estate doesn't really mean anything.

Also, why not try sell it privately? Get the COR done and then post it online, you may get slightly more if you're patient compared to selling it to Webuycars.

so its just because the vehicle has been in my name for a month? thats annoying
Correct. The second hand market went tits up and basically even WBC are giving decent offers. So they are doing this to curb people from reselling to them. I know of a few guys that has made decent profits selling to WBC.

Just list it here,
i offer a buck fiddy

Which model Skyline? 2.8 GTX? Have you sold it yet?

Don't you just have to wait 3 or 6 months or something and then they will take it?

I used sell my car quick yesterday. Not sure if they are in your area, but compared to we buy cars it was a pleasant experience and they gave me a really good price on my old 2009 citroen c4 Picasso, got about R23000. Does not sound like a lot, but the car had scratches all around, mirror covers were busted, wheel judder on breaking and so. I expected a lot less tbh. But yeah, give them a go.
