Lol well maybe it's that! It would only happen under heavyish acceleration, when the suction of air was enough to pull through the gap. With the MAF suddenly reading 0 air, it would jerk.hmmmmmmmmm, i;ve literally had this problem for years and no solution, if it is something like this. I will be super pissed xD
Why not get the car on live data diagnosing? You can not just replace parts if you do not have data to tell you to do so.
This frustrates me, mechanics throwing parts at a car.
Have you had a look at the gearbox? VW/Audi has a lot of problems there.
You might have a vacuum leak. But this will be seen by a mechanic that knows what he is doing while looking at live data.
Check EGR valve

My money is on faulty piezoelectric injectors. Good luck
I've had the same thing with my Mazda 6, it basically feels like it loses power immediately, and then 0.5 seconds later it gains all its power back. Like it is being forced into a choke point and then released all at once. It does this between 2-4000rpm and can do it any number of times between that range. Also started randomly one morning. The amount of petrol you apply from pull off influences how bad the jerks are - more the power overpowers the jerking and it is less of a choke. If you pull off slowly it can sometimes dip the entire nose of the car seriously as if you stall.
I think it is the MAF since if I disconnect mine, it goes away entirely. Also been to many mechanics with fokol solution. The only other thing I can think it is is that the sump has too much gunk in it and it somehow affecting it and has affected and built up into the engine itself somehow, as my Mazda NEVER used oil, one day it started using a fair amount, and the dipstick stopped reading the oil correctly entirely from that day, not even if you checked it in the morning after standing all night.
I had an opel corsa which gave me this exact problem, I know it's completely different cars, but my issue was caused by a slightly worn crank pulley. less than 1mm play on the keyway, drove it like that for a few months because no one I took it too could find the problem. Saw it by chance when I redid the headgasket, replaced the pulley and made sure the key on the crankshaft didn't have any wear- and the problem was solved.
+1 to Panic Mechanic (Stephan van Tonder) he's well versed with these cars. He has personally worked on my turbo projects and sorted issues out.
I’ve had this problem many times with my Audi. Its a coil
There's a facebook page called OOC- opel owner's club. Mostly just guys bragging about opel being the best (pfffft), but there's a few amazing mechanics on that page, maybe one of them could give you a solution. One of them correctly diagnosed a problem on a friend's Ford Ranger the other day that not even Ford could sort out. IMO the car has cost you way too much to justify spending much more on it, audi parts are crazy expensive. With this problem I am having with the Audi, a lot of Corsa Stories I head seems similar to my problem.
Will check it.

is the car automatic?I will check out, but not worth it to spend more on the car, atm I am going to try and sell it back to WBC or trade it in on something else.
Only reason I started to spend on the car is I thought that it will be sorted by now.
is the car automatic?
Rules out a faulty transmission control valve, read in the thread you had a part of your buddy to test on yours, think it was the maf, ask if he's willing to let you test some other parts, seeing no error codes via diagnosis it's a bit of a shot in the dark, like your cam and crank sensors etc fit them on his car and see if you can replicate the issue on his car, that's all i got, hope you get it sorted.manual gearbox 6 speed
Maybe your Pressure relieve valve on your high pressure side of the diesel system is leaking a just enough back tank to cause jerking under load?
My brother in law had a similar problem with a disco 3. Where the high pressure fuel pump pulley was worn out on the shaft. Low loads it would run fine, high loads it would act up. Not sure how the hp fuel system works on an Audi

Go rant on twitter and facebook to audi south africa saying their welkom branch cant give you a straight answer and they are making you choose between option that might be wrong and still cost you money. If you play your cards well, then the chances are good that they will make you an appointment and send their regional tech to diagnose your problem, if they have such a guy. Thats what land rover used to do. Send out the big guns when shit hit the fan.
