is there anyone in gauteng area that can assist me in delidding my 8700K? the TIM i think is toast and would like to lift that IHS so that i can replace it

also if you have liquid metal and you are good at applying it then ill pay for that service also since LM is first prize on this cpu ihs

Bear in mind that LM will need to be replaced overtime as it "dries" out as it absorbs into the other metals. Also no aluminium coolers.

well in the end i said F it and went to town with a blade.... Low and behold it worked!! the tim was CRISP, repasted it with some hydronaut, and carefully positioned the ihs back to its original position after cleaning off the black glue

then i just clamped it down with the motherboards cpu clap mechanism while keeping the ihs still and boom bobs your uncle!

15c Drop. thats good enough for me. im pleased with that, along with my undervolt the cpu atleast now runs 70c on 4.7ghz all core 100% load

came a long way from the 100c at stock settings and then thermal throttle imto oblivion it had originally, Liquid metal will yield even more results but im sure as hell not going out to buy LM just for that... shits expensive yo

flip intel what were you thinking using normal tim.....
