3D Printing.. where you guys at!!!

It comes in a box behind a perspex, but don't have place to hang them or put them up, to big, thus i want an display stand, where they are in the open air xD.
With a cool Dota 2 logo or something on the stand

i looked at that last night.
Something similar, but standing base at the bottom, and like 2 claws or something the aegis can just rest in basically.
Will get dimensions and pictures tonight.

@PandaAttack1, How is your printer going?

Think you should look at some TMC2209 steppers...
1/256 bit microstepping.
Hey friend!

Going great and having a blast! The printer is doing great for the most part. I've made peace that 3D printing is not an exact science and everything is an approximation. With that mind shift I am now completely satisfied with my prints.

Busy printing my first 24+ hour print; a keyboard. Manuform Dactyl. Will post a build log once I get started. So upset that I did not try Tree Supports, would've took the time down to 18hours with half the filament usage. Will change those settings for the other half.

Any recommendations on which 3d printer to get to start out with?

With my extensive research into the matter, I settled on an Ender 3 Pro. They are available locally and there are a lot of community support for the printer out there... Also many upgrades and changes that you can make yourself to improve your prints. They are also cheap, in comparison....

I also got an Ender 3 Pro - Been absolutely amazing over the last 18 months, upgraded it quite a bit, not even running stock firmware (running Klipper from a Raspberry Pi)

Busy with a 31 Hour print:

I was going to do a octoprint setup tonight.

What is the difference with Octoprint/octopi/klipper? That interface looks really nice in comparison to the little clicky screen that's on there at the moment.

Hi all,

Do you know where I could buy a single tmc2209 module in south africa/cape town. I currently have a tb6560 running the y-axis on my custom 500x500 printer, but its skipping steps badly (apparently known for being bad). Or maybe a good quality stepper driver that can run a 2 amp nema 23.

Thanks

Once you go OctoPrint, you won't ever go back!

Main advantages for me:
  1. Send files directly from Cura - One Click Printing after slicing
  2. Remote Monitor (Start, Stop or just Review)
  3. Klipper for the added speed (without loss of quality)
  4. Octolapse for those sweet timelapses
  5. Many more...
Disadvantage:
  1. No resume functionality - I've tried all available methods, none work...

In Cape Town but they are closed for the year I believe.

I am a big fan of Darksiders, and even though there were some decent files on sites like Thingiverse nothing compared to the one being sold on Game Body's site.

Decided to close my eyes and just buy it even though I was a bit worried that it might be a problem model to print.

Must say, the model is split very well and I printed without any problems. Just need to finish the base but I am very happy with my purchase. Might pick up the Fallout Power Armor next.

Probably my most detailed 3d printed figure.

Anybody in CPT area (I'm in Brackenfell, Northern Suburbs) willing to do some 3D prints for me?

I pay the moneys of course :) Would just love to see how its done.

Items I'm interested in is leg extentions for Mavic Mini, Blade Protector for Mavic Mini, and perhaps a cell phone bracket for astronomy eyepiece attachment.

I believe @NoobTuber2000 is in CT.

I have a piece for 3D printing but I don't have files.
Do you guys do scanning, or how do you go about it?

Hey gents!

I need some advice on making a stronger print. As you can see in the picture below, these standoffs broke off. The tolerance is a bit off, so I had to they moved about 1/2 a mm to tighten, and they broke off. It was printed in PLA.

Apart from making the infill on the standoffs 100%, would it help printing this in PETG? Buying some new filament today, so just want to make sure I buy the right stuff to remedy this issue.

Looks more of a design issue. If you could, I would add some "support" to the standoffs. Like a triangle to give strength.

ABS or PETG could work but also depends on the layer bonding

What do you mean with layer bonding?

Is PLA better than PETG for bonding?

Sorry for jumping in a month late - regardless of material, the parts will be weakest in the axis of the layers, cause with FDM printing your inter layer bonds (how each layer adheres to the previous and next) are the weakest connection in the print.

Always attempt to orient a print so that the layers run perpendicular to the dominant stress the part will be subjected to.

For these standoffs you might want to consider printing them in two parts - print the standoffs separately and leave a hole in the large flat part to glue them in afterwards

Any one have some flexible filament ?

Seems you can print this in PLA but a bit of an effort to make it fit though.

Howsit Gents - I am looking for someone with a pretty detailed SLA/Resin 3D Printer.

Need some printing done that needs more detail than my FDM can manage...
