Hey Carbies

One of my PC's got hit this weekend . It has a 1070 in it what do i tell the insurance is the current replacement ?

Well at the time it was 3rd 1080ti->1080->1070 now it should be 3080ti->3080->3070.
I had some rat scummy assessor tell me a 980ti = 1050 because his company would have done the replacement (so after a few phone calls it got sent to a different assessor)

Discovery paid 20k for 1080ti, just before prices went mad, told them replacement card is 3080.

can they not pay you out the cash value of the card at today's prices?

Agree with this sentiment . Think im going to give the 3070 as replacement or a nice 3060ti

Haven't started the claim yet so unsure how they wil handle it .
easy man, i dealt with Outsurance previously with one of my PC's a few years back.

You have the OG Invoices if you can, show them at the time it was the "3rd" range of current generation card, and quote on the "3rd" range of the current generation, they abide to the policy where they must try and place you in the same situation as before the incident happened, and due to that card being older generation and discontinued they need to either pay out so replacement could be done, or replace the card with one of the quotes one's.

Thats if it was comprehensive insurance covering the contents of the PC and not just the PC as a Unit and Net worth. And if he has any invoices it will help the claim move quicker cause they can see dates and pricing and compare or you show them the comparison.
