I did eventually get in a couple of games in international lobbies. The games were fun but of course my ping suffered. My ping was anywhere between 115 - 145 ms.

I have been trying to get into a match forever as well, seems odd that we aren't even getting thrown into an EU lobby.

I like the 4080 but the pricing of it sucks. Was never considering the 7900xt but like you said at R17K seems like quite the bargain to me. DLSS is the only thing holding me back right now. I will hold until Black Fridayish and revisit it. Dont mind dropping to high in the interim.

+1 on Luxpower, pretty happy with mine but agree on the fan getting loud when charging and also under heavy load of 3500watts plus which sometimes happens when my borehole pump kicks in to top off the tank. Had to relocate it to the garage due to the noise but other than that pretty happy.

I would say I`m quite casual. I mainly play assetto corsa, i sometimes dabble in ac competizione but that's not too often. I am looking at 27 to 32inch high refresh rate now.

I am slightly concerned with going from a 165hz 1440p screen to 60hz however I am not that serious of a racer. I play a multitude of games and I go through phases where I will race exclusively but other times I`m playing Elden ring, COD and even single player story games.

Yeahp, I came to the same conclusion. The 4090 is the only big leap forward while at the same time I will never spend that kind of money on a GPU as i just hate being fleeced. This gen is turning out quite meh.

So my Scythe Fuma 2 got here and I am very impressed with it. Maxing out at 72c in Cinebench R23 multicore and 54c in single core test. Haven't yet gamed but its very promising. Idle is 40c so that has dropped as well. I'm sure its quieter than my AIO was too.
