Bikers!?

That's why you buy big bikes. Drive pews far away to look at fokol. :p
done my fair share of long distance riding if you remember..... on supers and touring bikes.... give me another 10 years, then it might be my scene. but for a ugly single boldie like you, I guess it works.. the fact that you get out of civilization means you are doing it a favor :p

First bike: Not sure if it counts but the first 2 wheeler I learnt to ride on was a Sym Crox 125
Current bike: Honda XR 150 LEK
Bike if money were no object: Maybe a Honda CRF1100 Adventure Sports or a CBR 1000RR-R Fireblade

Gotten accustomed to the seating position on the XR for a few years now. Did ride an early 2000s Ninja 600 last year but it feels a little cramped for me (maybe just not used to it).

Die Fireblade is 'n giftige bike. Beautiful bike indeed.

Hay chaps
So am going through the processes for my bike finance and they are asking for a mechanical breakdown warranty.
Was wondering who would be suggested for this?

The dealer your buying it from can offer that. Well generally.

Unless its a pvt purchase, then I would call the manufacturer and ask who they recommend. Keep in mind these warranties are not nearly as good as oem ones.

What bike are you buying and for how much?

Yeah it is pvt.
It's a 2013 Ducati Diavel.
Will give WOM a call and see who they recommend.

Thanks.

Are they trying to sell you one or are they asking you to get one yourself ?

Just want to understand if its compulsory or an option.

I believe those are simply money making schemes as 80% will have massive excuses why they don't pay out when something eventually happens. From what I have seen, its a ball ache to get them to pay

If you are buying via a dealer and its compulsory, they would be able to recommend you to an insurer that they have experience with.
If its compulsory and you are buying privately, or you its optional and you are buying from a dealer, check the large insurance companies Auto&General I know has it for cars, maybe Hollard ?

I have never actually seen a bike mechanical warranty.

EDIT: Missed the above replies.

I want pictures though, Big fan of the Diavel myself.

Thanks dude.
Yeah am buying it pvt and would seem that they want it.
Am waiting for the marketer to give me a call and discuss things, just saw it seems to be a requirement.

I noticed this when I bought my car privately. They required me to get a mechanical warranty.
TBH I really don't think there are any decent ones. Read the stuff properly, Those warranties are mostly stupid and have a "limit" on the value of what they cover. So example, Any repairs on wheels - R8000 etc etc.
I got quotes on spares and stuff and found out that the R2000 value for the turbo is not going to cover me if I need to get the turbo on my car replaced.

I reckon it's all a money making scheme.

My bike I bought new so it's still under warranty until the end of next year, though it hasn't given me any real problems.

EDIT: Don't ever talk to @ovisser1 about a Diavel as he calls it a "DEE A FEL" Because he doesn't know how to do the English

Yeah it's a requirement from the bank

Do agree though that it's probably a waste of money but is what it is.

On the positive side, will more than likely be collecting her on Friday.

This caught my eye and stirred up some nostalgia as I haven't ridden in quite a few years, but let me add to the list...

First bike: Yamaha RZ125
Ex bikes: 2008 Suzuki SV1000S & 2009 Honda CBR600RR

Dreambikes: 600cc: Any late model Yamaha R6 1000cc: Yamaha R1 (Big Bang) Motard: Aprilia SXV 550

That being said, not sure whether I'll ever ride bikes again... will see. :p
