Battlefield V

I skipped the beta and played this for the first time on Friday. Holy shit the TTK is fast, not sure I like that.

Performance is awful too, man oh man. 1070 and 4790 on main PC, 1070 and 8750H on laptop. Plays like garbage on both. Feels like a step back graphically and performance-wise from BF1, which ran well on both my machines.

I put hundreds of hours into BF1 and will probably get into this, but first impressions not been great.

Someone tell me it gets better.

I don't think I have ever played a game that has a perfect TTK life BF5.
It forces you to play clever, but also allows you to go on kill streaks which is very satisfying.

If TTK is too long, on CQB you won't get kill streaks. You'll kill a few enemies and either die yourself, or get shot to shit and have to run away.
If TTK is too short, yes I'd agree its crap.
Currently, I think its perfect, on reddit there's multiple threads asking not to change TTK.

I'm also not happy with my performance. The game is playable, but I would like to get 150FPS average, at least. Considering my PC, and the video settings I am playing on. But I am hoping December 4th patch will make the game run better, as well as Nvidia drivers.

11, haven't tried 12 because it sucks apparently. Can we also just have a moment of silence for the fact that the current standard is still a DX version that is now 5 years old? I can't even.

I'm looking around on the internet, will play around with different settings and see if I can get it to run smooth in same shape or form.

My motivation to deep troubleshoot this isn't enormous at the moment. I'm still enjoying BO4 too much, plus I haven't even touched RDR 2 or Fallout 76.

Might just leave this to sort itself out for a few weeks if I can't find an easy solution.

If you're finding this game lacking graphically you really shouldn't be going anywhere near fallout 76 man :) Looks straight out of 2004.
Performance issues will be sorted by patches I am sure, I have a mate playing on a laptop with a 1070 and he is having no issues with DX12 enabled as well.

are we still talking about BFV? :p

ok, so looks like I finally have settings tuned

will check tonight how it is

Hack/Fap settings knowing that user....

yep, porn was jerking so I had to change some strokes :p

@EDDYYZ37 game settings, mostly video cause the input lag was horrendous

it also kept not saving my settings so had to quit and restart few times to get it to stick

Can we get some feedback on this especially from some BF2 vets (if there are any). I would like to give it a go but have been majorly disappointed with previous releases. What is the gameplay like? I really hope EA could redeem themselves with this one. From what I have seen it looks promising but reviews looked really bad.

wanna use account to test?

Just an update if this applies to you guys with Gaming laptops as the bottom 2 issues annoyed the crap out of me.

My game was disconnecting every 5 minutes or so "lost connection to the session" - Fixed it by running Origin and Battlefield V as administrator, also ran Battlefield V in windows 7 compatibility mode
Also turn off game mode and background apps in Win 10

Laptop kept on power throttling which resulted in big frame drops every 3-5mins - Fixed by keeping laptop on "best performance" obviously as this kinda lowers the throttling and run a program called "Throttlestop" uncheck "BD PROCHOT" and click on turn on. This should keep it from power throttling.

Ek bou nog. Wag vir my blocks.

For me what solved this was stopping the "killer network" service.

Ek het gedink 2 1080ti's sal dit kan doen..

So after trying everything recommended by every site on the internet, I nearly gave up on the game. It still played poorly and I was over it.

Then I tried the one thing that every site said to NEVER EVER EVER do, and turn on DX12.

Night and day difference on my 1070. Consistently getting between 70-95 frames at 1440p and it feels much smoother. Frame timing seems to be better or something.

Just FYI for anyone struggling with performance.

Still hate the TTK though.

So I got this game when I purchased a new RTX graphics card on Black Friday. The visuals look pretty good I'll admit. I'm not sure how to actually switch on the Real Time Ray Tracing in the game as there is no such option in the menu. Still it looks great, but for me it will only be war stories..... not really a multiplayer fan.

in Jayz video he mentions it being DXR between DX12 and HDR in your GPU settings in BF ?

Got it working and I'm a little surprised. I'm playing on 1440P and my frames per second sits around 60fps but it is as if it is limited by refresh rate.

isn't that how it usually works? you can't go higher FPS if your screen can't handle it?

Nope, that's when you use gsync or freesync or vsync @60fps
Should be able push whatever the card can push.

did you have Vsync on?
Not sure.... I disabled it now in Nvidia Control Panel as not much options in BFV menu, or I'm a little dumb with the menu. Anyway, going to run now with cam to check FPS while DXR disable and then enable to see difference.
