Seen some of the builds with this tiny shoebox, looks so damn nice. Just like you mentioned the price is a bit steep.
Abraham Lincoln editionI thought it would come with an actual tophat, not just a thing to make it taller.
Contact 3d printer, print.Hi, I see that they have the 3d plans for free on the website. What would my options be to get it made? or 3d printed?View attachment 26454
The panels are all extrusions, having it made to those drawings will be expensive AF. And 3d printing a case? Will take away from the clean lines of the case imo. And will just look bleh.Hi, I see that they have the 3d plans for free on the website. What would my options be to get it made? or 3d printed?View attachment 26454
Not if you sand it properly. The panels are all extrusions, having it made to those drawings will be expensive AF. And 3d printing a case? Will take away from the clean lines of the case imo. And will just look bleh.

I would be interested depending on price, this case and the Dan case A4 are my top two wanted cases!Anyone else think this case is amazing? Wouldn't mind doing a huge group buy or something

I disagree tbh, you can print this and have the various items bent where needed for less, considerably less, hell you could have that case laser cut from Stainless steel for a fraction of the selling price.thanks man, so def not cheaper getting this thing made

It will never look like a Louqe S1 then.I disagree tbh, you can print this and have the various items bent where needed for less, considerably less, hell you could have that case laser cut from Stainless steel for a fraction of the selling price.
Aluminium just doesn't lasercut as easily but water jet is generally quite clean but more expensive.Thought of that, wouldn't aluminium be a better bet to get rid of heat.
Think it would
If you bend it properly you honestly shouldn't have an issue, I send my work to a company that does 4 axis laser cutting and bending and the results are always excellent. It will never look like a Louqe S1 then.
Bending is not as accurate as one might think.
If you want to make a case that kinda looks like the Louqe S1 but is put together differently, then ya laser and bend the entire thing.

Our company has all our parts laser cut, we bend on our fancy machines. Despite accurate design, there is still a lot of error that creeps in.If you bend it properly you honestly shouldn't have an issue, I send my work to a company that does 4 axis laser cutting and bending and the results are always excellent.
Yeh I would never go for a straight sheet metal case rather SS so you are correct it would be a similar look but not the original. Our company has all our parts laser cut, we bend on our fancy machines. Despite accurate design, there is still a lot of error that creeps in.
Anyway, are we talking about replicating a case, or making one that looks similar?
If you offered me a sheet metal case for R1000 I wouldn't want it cos it will not have anywhere near the appeal of the original, which for me is what makes it so sexy.
Would be cool if some guys can have some printed or lasered to see the results!
