Hey team.

1st time forum poster, long time lurker.

An ex colleague approached me today with a website called "www.compumania.co.za" asking for my opinion. Looks like a scameroonie to me, but I would love to hear the Carb community's opinion and possibly any experience any of you might have had with this site/company.

Haven't used the website but been to a physical store in 2 different locations. They're legit, their stuff can be overpriced at times compared to Takealot/Woot. Don't know if that helps at all.

Bother to register a domain, have worlds most random email address and no mention of location on their website. Doesn't seem worth playing the lotto to save a few thousand rands.

Also, they claim to ship worldwide from a vast network of distribution centers, yet the only reviews are from Lerato, Thabo, Anele and Andre. Seems suspicious...

used bogus details and tried to go to the payment screen, it shows the business name as Mikes Kitchen and
'Merchant account still in review, please try again later'

Just confirms what I was thinking. Came across them while shopping for a lappy for a friend of mine but, as you say, all the red flags are VERY much there.
