Windows 10 upgrade - "Special" last chance?

It's all propaganda and bullshit to get people to upgrade and use Windows 10.... Microsoft isn't worried about selling it, because they'll make money off selling your information / usage habits to advertisers and shoving other shit down your throat in future - not to mention the possibility of Windows switching to a monthly pay-to-use subscription system, a-la Office 365.

There's nothing special or mystical about installing Windows 10 with older version license rights --- You download the latest Windows 10 installation image with the Win 10 Media Creation Tool available on Microsoft's site, which will happily install and activate Windows 10 with any legitimate 25-digit Windows 7 license key, or it will even automatically use Win 8/8.1 embedded MSDM keys for authentication.

MS wants you to upgrade to Win10 to make it the defacto standard. They want business to move away from Win7 and to phase that OS out.
I also think there's a underhanded method in with WIn10 which gathers usage actions and stats to then gather big data.
It's how Google operates, really. They have your data which they process and sell services to businesses.

I'd reccomend looking for some tools to turn off the tracking entirely. The tools will turn off auto updates and many other intrusive features.

I think BB is right. It is the same reason why you don't pay for Facebook - you personal profile is the product. Imagine how much it must cost to run Facebook? Whole data centers etc.
