Hey guys,

My HTPC (HP Microserver) runs Windows 8 + XBMC.

I'm trying to add a Raid 0 array but as soon as the bios is set to Raid windows BSOD on startup. Setting it back to default resolves the problem.

Some googling gave me a solution to change the value of \services\iaStorV\start in the registry from 1 to 0. Mine however was already on 0 but I've tried both settings with no success.

Anyway to get it booting in raid without a fresh install?

Is that pre or post installation. Post oS installation you will get blue screen re-installation is required. I believe there's a nice discussion on this on the win supersite. Where they also confirmed re-installation is required if you want to change to raid. Maybe by now there's work around, but as I am aware re-install with raid option only way.

Can you please tell me what sata mode you are currently using?

*EDIT: I forgot to add that in Windows 8 you'll need to delete the "startoverride" key after you've made the changes. So just search for "startoverride" in your services until you find it under the driver you now want to use (for you that is "iaStorV") and delete the entire key (folder).

Also "msachi" is labeled as "storachi" in windows 8.
