Hi Fellow Carbz,

Where can one buy electronics with interest-free repayments, much like raru.co.za, but repayments over a few months eg. 3 or 6 months or so?

Thanks in advance!

:)

The plan is not to tap into my overdraft or credit card (it's meant for a crisis situation), hence the question. Guess I'll have to save for the damn thing I want so bad right now...Black Friday is not too far away I guess...

Search for payjusttow, interest free over 3 months. not sure if there is any pc shops on there. i use it for cape union mart.

think there was or still is something called teljoy? rent to own? 3,289.29 not sure if they interest free or not. maybe same places might have lay buy if I said that correct but think you pay them once paid full you take you sheez

TymeBank is about to launch MoreTyme - 50% upfront and two interest free 25% installments every 30 days after that.

Some retailers offer mobicred but I find their interest rate just way too high

I would stay miles away, you pay through your teeth with them.
I would say using a credit card is cheaper 99% of the time compared to teljoy.

Some vendors support Payflex as payment method,that's also interest free over the period (3-6 months?)

For the smaller guys, you'll probably only find the following two;

- Payflex: splits your payments over 4 equal amounts, paid every two weeks.The first amount could be higher if you score lower on their system

- PayJustNow: does something similar, but only offer small amounts (I think it was only R2,500) so you won't find them at many PC/electronic stores

As far as interest-free goes, I think that's your options outside of lay-bye

Lay-bye is a good option if you dont need it immediately. No interest, not sure if electronic stores do this though.

I used Payflex once, it splits your payment over 4 equal payments over 6 weeks. Its interest free. If you time it right you can have the item split over 2 salary cycles. Payflex doesnt use a scoring system though? I didnt need to.

The website I bought off had a R250 first time buyers voucher and Payflex had a R100 voucher for first time. So I got the same item for R350 less than if I went to the store :D
